Terrible decision. Lets be honest here: Boavista's roster is very average at best. The strikers are awful, with Fary - arguably their best choice - missing part of the season due to injury; their best player is 35yo and their keeper is old enough to be his father!; they don't have a bench capable of subbing capably anyone of the first team; how long has it been since Boavista's once magical youth system has produced an above the average player? Okay, Meireles, but he was promptly sold to us.

In this conditions it was very hard to do better. Besides, the team was coming from an horrific season and this was the transition season, crucial to set the mindset for better things next season.

Oh well, all the luck to Carlos Brito.

In one way I feel sad about Brito leaving Boavista, but the truth is he wasn't able to achieve what was expected. What Infesta said is true, it's not like he had the best squad, but the excessive number of ties showed a team that had no ambition whatsoever.

I just hope that whatever our next coach is, Joao Loureiro won't be a cheap-ass blind prick once again when it comes to buy players. No more Luiz Claudios, William Souzas, Areias and Rui Duartes. Give us some decent players. Bring back Calviño!!!

Also, Manuel Machado has officially left Nacional, not having renewed his contract. It's rumoured he will go to Académica.

Lol non taken. I already adressed this topic in my last post. I can´t really understand why he would ditch Nacional to join us in our eternal struggle against relegation but it´s my reasoning that if he accepts to join us there is probably some ambitious plan behind this move. Anyways it´s all speculation since i haven´t heard anything in Coimbra about this.

well there goes another portuguese team down the pipe in the first round of the UEFA cup.

Nacional obviously won't be the same without Manuel Machado and if they sell players like Miguelito as rumoured, even worse.

Boavista had a much better shot in the UEFA cup with Jesualdo and if they get a few players because although they didn't finish in a bad place this season, I think this squad was their weakest in years.
