Matt Bellamy, the lead singer of rock band Muse switched places with drummer Dominic Howard for a performance on Italian television, after being told to mime.

Frontman Matt Bellamy could be seen grinning widely as he played an apparently random rhythm, frequently missing beats to point at the camera and wave his sticks above his head.
Drummer Dominic Howard enjoyed a brief taste of the limelight as he mimed his way through the band's hit single Uprising while pretending to play the guitar.

The Devon three-piece pulled the stunt while on tour to promote their new album The Resistance, which is currently at No 1 in the British charts.

Pah, anything Muse can do, mr. Flea and mr. Johnny can do better:

Their new album has been a disappointment for me due to its poppish mainstream sound..

I think what Nirvana did was way funnier. The way Kurt Cobain sings was simply awesome.

I agree with you. Kurt's guitar playing and voice on that TOTPs show can not be matched!

Still, pretty good effort by Da Muse. A bit disrespectful, but that's what playback is to music fans: total disrespect.

And yes, their new album sucks balls. Don't know what went wrong on Da Muse's career. They always had great songs and one absolutely great album, but have been crap for the past 2 records.
Funnily enough, I sense they have more fans now worldwide than, say, back in 2003.
