The game will be on tape delay on CBC because they're showing the **** Sens vs Sabres game.

You can watch it on the CBC website and I think on CBC country live.

It's LIVE on www.cbcsports.ca.

Was gonna make a post regarding the game, but seeing it's delayed on public TV, I won't spoil.

Luis: it went to overtime :( I hate CBC, they absolutely butchered this game.. not only did the stream lag so much that I gave up watching after 10 minutes and decided to wait for the taped match on TV, but when it did come on TV they cut off more than half the game. ****ers (N)

Stream lag? What are you talking about, Rony?

Oh I forgot, you have cheap internet connection. :p

nah I have high speed now and I've been streaming matches for the past month or so with no problems... this one was weird though, not that it lagged a lot but it would have to buffer like every minute, killed the game. nobody else experienced this? :(

Well, I got to see it live which was great, but we lost. Andy Welsh sucks as always...I swear this guy was struggling to keep up only 10 minutes into the game. Defence is always shaky and from what I remember, that wasn't really a penalty, was it? It seemed like the guy fell after the tackle.

Thomas Radzinski was cut by Fulham yesterday, anyone think he will come here and play for us? him/Dichio would be awsome at the front, screw Buddle

Radzinski won't come, or at least I highly doubt it.. he's an a-hole anyways. I remember watching an interview with him way back while BMO was still under construction and when he was asked if he'd be interested in playing here he kinda snickered and basically said he wasn't ready to end his career yet.. :|

He's overrated and past it anyhow, Lombardo is the future of Canadian soccer now. Mark my words he's gonna be a top flight player in the coming years and will make a permanent move to a Euro club in the near future. I can't remember the last time I saw a Canadian player with such vision and class on the ball at such a young age (maybe only Hargreaves and Hume to a lesser extent), he really plays like he's got more experience than he actually does and you can tell he's been exposed to a different school of football. That time playing in Italy he had really shows..

...and I agree, I'm sick of Buddle too. He's a terrible, terrible player.. awkward skills, indecisive, and can't keep possesion worth a sh!t. Welsh is a disaster too, he f*cked up about 4 really good crossing opportunities yesterday simply because he has no technique, he totally plays like a typical Div. 2 English player. C'mon Mo, wtf...?

We also need a stronger, more experienced central defender. Boyens is alright, but he clearly lacks experience right now. Makes a lot of short passes out of the defence even under pressure and always looks like he can get left behind by a quick attacker just because of weak positioning. Don't get me wrong, I like him and he belongs on the squad, I just don't think he's starter quality atm.

My take on the TFC..

I knew Welsh was an English import, but I thought he was at least 31 or so years old... I looked him up and was shocked to not only see that he actually played premiership soccer a couple years ago, but that he was only 23 yrs old :O

Like Robinson though, I think no matter how poor they might play, these English imports will always have a place in the starting 11, just as a favour by Johnston. Robinson has improved since the start of season, but he's still not making that great an impact. Welsh is slow as sh*te, and always tries to take on defenders (and i know its because he comes from England and doesnt think much of the MLS opposition).. only he fails every time. I'd much rather see Canizalez starting over this bum. Whenever i see Boyens, its just a disaster waiting to happen, whenever he has possession he lacks confidence and looks shaky.

For me, Edu is one of our top players, he just needs more experience. He's lively on the ball, and is the best athlete on the team. I can see a future in Europe for this guy if he gains a bit more composure and patience on the ball.

Im not as in love with Dichio as the everybody else is, but he never seems to lose a 50/50 ball, and is pretty good at laying the ball off. Other then that, there's not much to his game. he is one dirty ass c*nt though, thats probably why Toronto loves him so much

Eskandarian definitely gets the award for the TFC player who puts in the most effort and seems to give a damn the most, im really glad he finally got on the board yesterday

O'Brien is still clearly injured, and although he has good vision, he cant run 10 metres to save his life.

Wynne and Goldthwaite were two great pickups. Goldthwaite gets exposed sometimes on defence though, and his yellow card yesterday was stupid.

Brennan has been kind of shaky on the ball, but his natural position is at full back.

Nagamura was a blah player and i didnt mind seeing him leaving (although somebody in return mightve been nice)

Buddle is lively, but very clumsy.

Canizalez has been a bright spot, and its a shame Welsh is preferred to him. One of the more skilled players on TFC.

Suttons been decent, i give him a 6.5/10. Definately improved since start of season, but compared to other MLS keepers im not totally convinced.

I think Johnston has been a subpar coach. Instead of making an offensive switch yesterday to try and draw even, he did nothing. Will play Robinson and more specifically Welsh this season from the start, no matter how poor they are.

and in response to shinji, i dont know how you can critisize Radzinski for snubbing the TFC. He's been a key player for Everton and Fulham the past 5 years or so, comin to the MLS now would be a huge step down. He's still got a couple more years of top flight soccer in him.

as for atmosphere at BMO field,,, ive been to the home opener, and yesterdays game. Im on the other side from the 'Ultras', although its looks pretty lively over there. Theres WAY too many fans in the stands who always yell out stupid comments, and it seems like 50% of the fans know nothing about soccer (at least in my end). Its still early, but I'd like if the fans were a bit louder during the game, and not just at goals or bad calls.

It was ace seeing the fans throwing **** and preventing Gomez from taking the corner yesterday (Y).

Some of the chants are terrible though.

"The T-O-R.. O-N-T... O O O O ... the TFC !!" :$

"This ref Sucks ! This ref Sucks!"

highlight of yesterday game in the stands was when the ref gave United a penalty (a 100% penalty), and the fans ignorantly thought it was criminal. So, a bunch of guys starting chanting "F*ck you ref! F*ck you ref!".. and then a bunch of 10 year old kids starting yelling it, and the mom went nuts on them and slapped a couple. that was A+

Overall though, I think its amazing that I finally have a hometown soccer team that I can follow, support and attend games. Although Im used to watching the finest soccer from europe, and the MLS is not anywhere near those levels, its still a pleasure. I just hope all the excitement for the TFC is still around 5 years from now, and this isnt just another case of the honey moon effect.

one thing i'll give the TFC an F- in is the jerseys. I think they look class, but the fact that you can only buy them with pressed cheap *ss looking badges is unforgivable. I'd gladly shell out $70 for one, but not until i see one with a sewn on crest. its also the one jersey I'd ever consider putting my own last name on the back, as theres nobody on the TFC id be willing to invest in.

they are trying to sell the 5,500 tickets because there are not that many people that will want to watch one friendly game for 300 dollars. Personally, i hope they realize their mistake of selling too many season tickets and will have more, cheaper tickets available in the future seasons.

the Toronto Sun is a right-wing rag, every page is filled with some kind of nonsense..

anyhow, here's the Benfica squad that's making the trip to North America. More than half the team seems to be either reserve or bench players, nice to see Miccoli and Rui Costa make the trip though. The defence looks to be close to full strength too.

GK: Moreira, Moretto.
Defenders: Pedro Correia, Anderson, Léo, Miguelito, Nelson, David Luiz e Miguel Vítor.
Midfield: Rui Costa, Paulo Jorge, Beto, Manu, Miguel Rosa e Romeu Ribeiro
Forwards: Miccoli, Sami.

:(

I missed the match this weekend as I was at the cottage, but caught the CBC butcher job at 5PM.

I think our defending still needs some work, but DC United is a good club and have won a lot, so I'm not surprised they had the talent to come back and beat us.

I definitely missed being at the stadium Saturday :( but I'll be there yelling at the Benfica Maricas on Wednesday (H).

I think that DC also really overpowered our midfield today, as Edu looked good, but also raw, and Robinson was pushed around a lot. Our central D needs to be shored up for sure.

Shinji, I was in your territory this weekend: Grand Bend!

Fantastic crowd support for Toronto FC. The cultural diversity of Toronto will ensure the team is here to stay.

I think MLSE should just go ahead and expand BMO field to a world class 40-50 thousand seat soccer stadium enclosed all around with upperdecks and private boxes etc.

lol...this one lady right behind me had THE most ANNOYING voice I'd ever heard in my life... I swear to god, by the end I wanted to turn around and smack her or something, I just couldn't stand it. She'd just yell "COME ON NOW! TURRNNN ON ITTT!" at some random ass times...

And my end was yelling "THE REFEREE IS A WANKER" which I thought was amusing....the only really organized fan secion seems to be the one that threw **** at Gomez during the corner...They had all the props and cheers and everything. The stadium just can't organize itself yet so that EVERYONE yells the same cheer at the same time, that's when we'd hear the full effect.

And the penalty? I honestly haven't seen it on replay but it seemed to me like the guy fell after the ball was taken from him?
