He still has 36 to go, but yeah, at the rate Cavani is going, he might just do it by the end of this season.

I mixed up Madonna and Maradona which gives Maradonna. My bad.

Why would you do that?

The fact that they won the EPL (by 0 points) doesn't mean that its not a cheap ass team. Its a small team with a small mentality. EUROPA for them this year. (H)

'anU were in Europa last year.

Because both names sound alike.

Thats understandable, but why did they exclude him from the team for this game then?

Deep in your heart you know City is an awesome squad and they would be a CL challenger with a proper manager.

Everyone knows that. But to be fair, they have a lot of guys who aren't good enough for the top level like Barry, Milner, Lescott, etc.

Yeah they definitely need a bit of trimming around the edges. But it's expected coming from a squad which was built hungrily with millions invested to get the most good players possible. And they did win the EPL. With proper tweaking they could win the CL in the next 5 years.

Yeah, their transfer lolicy were wrong last summer, they sign clear reserves instead real competence to their starters, but is good enough to AT LEAST go through group stage

Manchester City have not progressed as rapidly as I expected considering their squad and level of investment. I thought that once they started winning, got that winning mentality, they would win everything.

I used to think Mancini was doing a good job, not moving too rapidly and managing egos well, but now I am starting to wonder. I also think they spent very poorly in the last transfer window.

Yeah,I'm actually more worried about United than them, think they'll lose tomorrow.

I don't think Milner, Barry af such are that bad. They're CL calibre players.

Yeah they're decent squad players and they understand that they are aging and being phased out. The thing which I fundamentally disagree with Mancini on is the importance of rotation - he seems to think that "freshness" is THE most important thing in a player, to him having two players play half the games of a season each in most positions is optimal (often meaning neither of those options is world class) whereas my view is that in most positions you want one world class player playing 80%+ of games, with either an up-and-coming or a squad player as cover for injury/occasional over fatigue. This is the kind of player Barry and Milner should be.

There has now been more Man City discussion this season in the Pogba thread than in the Man City thread.

I don't consider them City weak links ... I think English clubs should pay more attention to English/British players ... Look at German teams, most including Bayern have more than 5-6 Germans in starting XI and they are not all World Class.
