The OFFICIAL PES4 Demo feedback thread...

I know everyone has been offerring their opinions in some of the other threads, but I figure we should have one devoted to all feedback and thoughts on the demo.

What is with the BALL? It's not quite right. The way it bounces and interacts with the players just feels off, and I prefered the way it behaved in PES3. Pretty much everything else in the game is improved, but this ball thing is pretty crucial if you ask me. It reminded me off, dare i say it, FIFA!

Oh, and is it just me, or did the pitches look better in PES3? The 2 pitches in the demo didn't look as realistic and detailed if you ask me. The darker green one looked fake, and the other one had those mud patches on which you could see the square edge of the texture block, like it had just been stuck on to the pitch!

I concur with respect to the ball. I feel as though it is too elastic and should be 'heavier'.

the demo is too short but I think the game is nice and there´s a better pace than in ps2 version I like it :P
about the ball u guys will get used to the ball

Hello,

I just got up from bed and played the first three matches.

At first, it is very different to PES 3: generally faster, better looking.

The passing system is easier now I think, it feels different. And I don't like the way the players are running fast, it looks like in FIFA.

I'm having some slowdowns after corners, but that's not a real problem.

The atmosphere is better too!

I could see where they were coming from with the ball hitting off players and running loose, but I guess once you program it into the game then everytime the ball hits a player our two players run or walk into each other then the ball goes hitting off players.

Ive seen it do the Pinball Wizard thing , I run/walk into a cpu player the ball comes up fast , hit me in the chest and zips to one of my team mates, hits off his chest onto the next one and back off me.. I was in front of the cpu player on the ball and my two team mates were just behind him when this happened.

As I said , it works in places, a shot or a hard hit pass coming off a player and running loose. But I might be wrong but when they added that into the game it meant that it would hit off all the players, if they could have only programmed it to be random..

No real biggie!!

Ive seen shots come off the post with less rebound that I have seen some passes come off players!!

System Specs: Athlon 900, 512 meg memory, Geforce 4 mx. Running at 800x600 it's very smooth, in fact almost a little fast! I've got my torrent open also, so I'm seeding along with others.

well people i just played the demo and i have to say i am very very dissapointed; to me its like a pes3 clone; dont get me wrong i loved pes3; but i thought this game would be something diferent ; i know their a lot of new things added to the game but nothing drastic ; the gameplay hasnt change that much in my opinion; still to fast to me; the graphics are still to cartoon like to my taste ; i think konami could putted mucher work on it; man i am so very sad ; cause pes was he only good football game out their; now iam seriously thinking of reinstalling my fifa2005

NO WAY dude!
come on, the subtle things are worth the price of admission!
the balance of defense, the way you have to win positions (none of that crap in those FIFA corners), and that the ratings don't mean everything anymore.
it's great!

why are the graphics so sharp?

Well the game is awsome. Fifa can kiss my ass now. You can't score a goal in fifa with a midfielder or a defender because the midfielder doesn't support the attackers, fifa is not even close to the real thing, EA have to learn how to program the AI of fifa. Come on man, I have score 40 goals in fifa and all of them were with my forward players, thats just a joke. The gameplay is too plain stupid, PES4 is more in depth.

WEll downloaded the demo. Played a couple of matches. Now i'm going to get back to my PES4 on my PS2. Till I get the full version I will continue playing PES4 on my PS2 cause the only reason I'm going to get PES4 PC is for the online play.

i love this game, but i still find it too difficult with the loose balls, also, whats up with the headers? i can't seem to win one, if i press it for too long, it goes over the bar, if not, i don't head it!

for me, the graphics look very nice, and much better than PEs3, if you say the pitch isn't looking good, try turning Anisotropic Filtering, and antialiasing

the headers are all about timing. it's no longer button bashing. just try to press the button as the ball is coming towards the player.

Yeah the game seems a little fast...but at least slow down is gone...
