What suprised me the most is that our best player was Tomaz K. He made so many good saves despite giving away a penalty. the only reason why we were still draw at halftime was because of his efforts. He is definately a good buy. We really missed Giggs' pace yesterday..

Rio has been playin like crap for the past few games...i would take him off instead of brown. And Rooney was clearly super off form. He had to be taken off for Ole.

All in all... arsenal gave us a reminder about the quality of our squad. just not good enough

only a rumour going around, i think saha is fine. the DMC is the most necessary position to be focused on. don't think we need to panic yet, we can lose all of our rivalry games and still win the title that is if we win all the rest.

*wishful thinking*

from manutd:
Michael Carrick is still gaining match fitness but has already targeted a regular spot in United’s team as his aim for the season.

i still would have started him. since he has been playing dm, scholes has never really needed to play so deep, thats why he started showing his form again.

Still haven't learned yet?

Well up until now, they havn't won at home yet (6)
And a bit of banter is what keep this forum intersting.

I guess Vidic and Heinze ready to come back, and Rio's getting worried about his starting 11.... and if he wasn't worried, he should start worrying. He's been sub-par.

Just wondering, why wasnt VDS playing? Did I miss something?

Why doesn't that surprise me anymore
SAF is a damn dictator, no one is allowed to have his own opinion even if it's the truth. The truth is hard but Sar was right about that and you saw it yesterday again vs Arsenal. If this is true then I'm afraid he's the next to leave the club. Now if that happens then I think it's time for SAF to pack his belongings and f*ck off. But I'm sure Sar will tell the Dutch media what really went on so no need to go there yet..
To be continued for sure..

Silencer, VDS had been on the edge of being ruled out since even before the Celtic match. It has nothing to do with his comments. Fergie has said multiple times that he is happy that VDS is a vocal goalkeeper, his experience and willingness to shout and analyze is something that Fergie likes.

(pre-Celtic link for the stomach bug: http://home.skysports.com/list.aspx?hlid=415855&CPID=5&clid=1&lid=&title=Group+F+preview)

Park Ji-Sung picked up a minor knock in the 1-0 win over Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday and Edwin van der Sar has been struggling with a stomach bug.

what did he do? thanks

Well at Estadio da Luz he tried to take Benfica on single and he also reacted badly to taunts from the crowd and lost his discipline. Resulted in the suspension that forced him out of the Celtic game.

I thought he tried much the same thing against Arsenal yesterday, although at least he is looking to whip the ball into the box earlier now. Nearly decapitated Lehmann with a vicious shot too. But still can sometimes take on too much, lost the ball in a dangerous area and nearly cost us a goal too, but overall I think he's getting better.

you have to understand its very hard to be booed throughout the whole game when playing your childhood club at their stadium.

We did it because we knew he'd react badly and we will definitely do it again even more because of that gesture.

Even so he was by far the best player in both United - Benfica games.

Van der Sar told Dutch journalists that he had the flu yesterday and he felt very bad otherwise he would've played for sure according to himself.
There is no quarrel with SAF whatsoever, he read and heard about the rumours that this was the case but he said that this is all BS rumours everything is fine! Well that's that no need to guess what happened further, he was sick is all. So SAF was not to blame you were right I was wrong (thankgod)
