ManU could have signed him for peanuts two years ago when Bayern failed to find a taker for him in England. And then there was a second chance half a year ago before he signed a new contract. He could have left on a Bosman this summer.
Don't you know our board? We wait till players sign new contracts and then overpay to get them. :ewan:

fergie reckons that if we had signed owen, carrick wudn't be a first-team regular. wtf? why did we pay 18.6 mill then?

I much rather have Carrick playing regularly and OH stay in Bayern then OH playing here and Carrick sitting on the bench

Last thing we need is to be like Chelsea, spend mega bucks on players and put them on the bench.

More than likely the decision won't be his if we don't win the league this year - I'll bet Glazer will force changes.

Since we are enjoying one of the best starts ever, without Rooney and Scholes, I do not understanding why SAF not retiring is bad news. It seems that SAF is starting to make the hard & tough decisions again and slowly steering us back to where we want to be.

And Glazers won't force SAF out, because they know they can't afford the backlash.
They've spent a year and alot of PR to quiet down the backlash from the hostile takeover. They probably would not want to stir the hornet's nest again. Besides, OT is always filled and the merchandises are selling like hotcakes, so replacing SAF will not really give them any extra revenue.

SAF can stay as long as he wants IMO. We have always been in the top 3 even with bad squads, unlike Liverpool, Newcastle and Arsenal whom have had their share of bad seasons.

Disappointing performance against Arsenal. Hope we will be able to get on with the defeat and move on. Obviously, Fergie doesn't know how bad O'Shea and Fletcher are. :kader:

In the first half we played decent football creating a few chances, but that all dissapeared in the second half. We missed drive in the second half and especially the influence of Giggs. Just the moment that I was thinking to be happy with a draw Adebayor scored the goal. Dissapointing to lose but there are still 33 games for us in the league. Evra, Neville, Fletcher and Scholes were the men of the match today, especially Evra and Fletcher, they were the only ones in the second half working their asses off

Yeah, it's still too early to determine anything. From here onwards, we gotta get strong and be counted for. Hope there will be improvement for the Reading game. :rockman:

33 games. The defeat showed our thin fragile squad. We can't beat an Arsenal team without top strikers and we let Fabregas ran the show. I'm just pissed that Rooney was subbed off. If he needed to get fit, then completing 90 would be the way.

I dont see what Flecher and O'shea have that makes them deserve to play in the start 11
why the crap did carrick sit on the bench ?

Rooney lacked match fitness, he did almost nothing today, if we were to try to get something out of this match then Ole was the right choice. Bringing Scholes of was the wrong choice, he was doing a lot of defensive work in the midfield

I will actually come out for once and defend Fletcher today. He made at least 3 superb crosses that even Beckham would have been proud of. The first one was with the outside of his foot straight to Saha, who messed the shot up. Second one was that beautiful pass to Ronaldo, who whacked Lehman in the face. And the third one was to Saha again, who headed the ball just inches wide. Those are exactly the crosses that we need, not more of those tricks and skied shots from 70 yards out, like Ronaldo's.

But O'Shea was totally nowhere to be seen the whole game. what the hell was Fergie thinking, even Scholes that has no defense ability at all, was doing more defensive work than John. The crowd was right to boo the decision.
