Vidic is out for the season the club said.

Anyways a very tired performance. Porstmouth just ran all over the place and that's it. We had like 70% possession over the course of the whole game and nothing to show for it. Van Der Sar again making the exact same mistake as in Rome, but really its our defenders that should be blamed for it. Van Der Sar is never good at long range shots, he always struggled with them, but Ferdinand should have kicked away that ball without waiting for Edwin to get it, instead he tried to outmuscle Taylor and leave the ball for van der sar. Big mistake. O'Shea and Brown almost combined for the second Pompey goal late in first half, when they both for no reason left the ball to each other and luckily Van Der Sar was quick on his feet to stop the goal.

The second goal was just bad from Rio, he never looked properly and just assumed that Van Der Sar would be standing in net, although Van Der Sar shouldn't really have rushed out that far either.

Anyways, can't have too much to blame, the whole team played like ****, Giggs came on, he barely was any different from Richardson. He defended obviously much better, but attacking wise, same thing, can barely get to the ball, half-ass passes, tired.

I could go on and on about how crap this performance was, but whatever, a loss was coming sooner or later and i would rather have the team realize that they need to pull their **** together now because Ronaldo won't be caring them in every single game left. Chelsea are due a loss soon as well, they are not going to win 14 games in a row, if they do, then maybe they deserve to win the title. Our fixtures are easier than theirs and i can see them slipping up against Newcastle or Arsenal. Even against us, i doubt that they will win.

BTW, did i mention that with defending like that, there is no way we will keep a clean sheet next Tuesday. Ferdinand, Brown and Van Der Sar need to sort their **** out before its too late. And O'Shea just needs to get sorted out back to the bench. We gotta get through Roma, Watford and Sheffield United should be relatively easy and after that, i believe Neville should be back.

Chelsea has West Ham (away), Newcastle (away), Bolton, Arsenal (away) and United and Everton home. While we have Sheffield and Boro home, Everton, City and Chelsea away and West Ham home. I can seem them dropping points in all six of those games, 6 wins in 6 is not gonna happen for Chelsea, something is gonna give, so no worries :)

Positive note: our lads will want to prove themselves on Tuesday.

p.s when was the last time we lost 2 in a row?! At least it wasnt this season hence why I was pretty confident we would draw atleast.

Dissapointing result, but the timing couldn't be any better, I hope this will give the boys that extra boost we need in the last 6 matches, it is good to see Evra back on the bench, we could need his rushes on the left wing big time, Gary, Saha and Evra will be back to full fitness soon, I can't see Chelsea grinding out any more 1-0 wins in the remaining matches,

lol where is c ronaldo... where is totti...

it's not even a comparison

so we can already consider that you are out of the CL... and I'm sure Chelsea will end up winning the league 3 points is not a lead at all

Funny, we kinda consider Roma is out as well. Only immense luck will get them through Tuesday night.

Ronaldo is in the team leading the best league in the world, Totti is in the team barely keeping up with the leaders of the 3rd best league in the world, if you really went sure about the facts ;).

When you start dominating 10-man teams, we'll talk :ewan:

that was an awesome goal by Rio, I liked his celebration as well.:)

Yeah, i was kinda getting pissed at him, when he was at fault for both goals and both times, he would just turn away and start yelling at everybody, like it was their fault that they weren't there to do his job for him.

Van der sar should learn how to tip those long shots over... but i dont blame him cuz the ball is coming at such pace and power your 1st reaction would be just to get it away.

the depth in our squad is really being tested right now and seems that we dont have an answer.

Nothing wrong being confident about the team you support, but the day you come to OT and "own" united, aint going to be on tuesday!!
we lost a league game and that is not going to have a positive effect for Roma on tuesday.

Set your selves up for the treble you might just end up with nothing.

I expected Pompy to get something from the game. It's probably one of the worst places to go after a European game. But I still expect United to pick themselves up and go on to win the league.

Ferdinand and Van der Saar :(

Was worried we might slip up at Pompey and there we go !....still 3 points ahead but as SAF said, every game is a cup final now :p
