Damn, what a day. Chelsea lose and we win 3-0 with Solksjaer getting a goal, without Rooney or Scholes. Carrick makes a debut too.

Man 8 goals in 2 games, tell me that we have problems upfront now. Who the **** ever whined about Ruud leaving??? He can run his ass in Madrid for all i care. When you got players like Rooney, Saha and Solksjaer upfront!

Martyn Tyler and Andy Gray mentioned in commentary that Saha opens up more possibilities in terms of positions he makes himself available, also he plays at pace which suits the way United traditionally play. Van Nistelrooy to be really effective needs the ball delivered inside the box, usually whipped in from the wings which is why his best years were when Beckham was here. I agree with their point because I think van Nistelrooy made United too predictable and easier to nullify - also I feel van Nistelrooy didn't really apply himself once things started going less than 100% for him. Don't get me wrong he's still a hell of a striker, but I think it's better the way we play now and an even spread throughout the team.

As for tonight: I was biting my nails in the first half when Ronny cracked the crossbar and Giggsy hit the post with that beautiful freekick I began to think it might have been one of "those days" But Darren Fletcher (yes DARREN FLETCHER) played better than I've seen and his composure was a surprise to me as was the quality finish too. I still need alot of convincing though.

So then 2-0 from Louis Saha and I felt relaxed, Saha played excellently again today I'm glad he's finally putting that kind of form together at last.

I was really happy to see Ole back and was willing him to score - I damned Scott Carson for saving after Carrick passed up a certain goal on his league debut (scored a lot of kudos with me for that) to play him in. But then it happened ... OLE SCORED!! And the night was complete for me. And then the icing on the cake : Middlesbrough 2 -1 Chelsea! :bouncy:

One last thing, the new away strip looks really classy - you don't get the full effect from static pictures.

WE ARE TOP OF THE LEAGUE (still)!! (sorry can't resist)

Ole scoring was the highlight of the night for me. Scottish player was fucking dreadful (O'Shea aswell) in the first half and I don't know what was said to him at half-time but you've got to give him credit for bouncing back in the second half, played like he had a rocket up his arse. Of course, there will be chances that won't end up in the back of the net and some will say Ruud would've taken it, but they've also got to accept that we're a better team without him, far superior on the attack, and thats whats important. Giggs was man of the match for me, Ronaldo not far behind, both unlucky not to score. Fantastic goal by Saha.

Damn! I couldn't see the match, I had to work during the Ajax CL qualifier, we are having a great start, we have to keep this up, nice to see Pede keeping his arrogance, I wonder for how long that will be, we can only get better, consistency is the key for us
