I still don't want to see Mellor go though. Doesn't do much in general play IMO, but when something does pop up his positioning is always spot on. He doesn't seem in any rush to leave, regardless of his squad status, so having him around is useful to say the least.

Not saying he should go or that we should let him (H) The lad could probably find the net in his sleep, he's deffo a keeper. Be very interesting to see how he fares now that he knows he can do the business in the league against the top defenders.

Sinama really looks to have stepped up a notch or two on his play hasnt he? Well chuffed for these two.

Yep, Sinama is looking like he's got a pretty bright future at the club right now. Wouldn't mind seeing ALT back soon also. I don't think it will happen this season though.

So what's your cut for pimping prison chicks then pal?

why is that? did he do something?

I didn't realise that he was banned. If that is correct I expect that it's an accumulated yellow cards thing. A real pain in the arse if he is.:(

for Liverpool FC

well we are almost to the half point of the season, for Liverpool I think I has been good with a new manager, some new players, and injuries it has been good, so fa. Some problem we need to work out is consistansy, and start wining in away games. In Europe it has been good to we qualify for the next round, we got a decent oponent Bayer Leverkusen, it won't be easy.

PALYERS RATING: 1bad 10good

Chris Kirkland: 5
Makes many mistakes, and let in easy goals. Every time a team has one shot it end up as goal.

Jerzy Dudek: 5.5
Average had his mistakes at the begining then was dropped for Kirkland bu his on goal again and has done good.

Josemi: 5.5
Started the season very good but than started playing bad.

Steve Finnan: 7
very solid this season playing as rightback or rightwing.

Jamie Carragher: 8
Our best defender so far.

Sami Hyypia: 5.5
very slow at times has some good games but we need someone better.

John Arne Riise: 7
does his job well defends good and attacks well.

Luis Garcia: 8
one of our best signings. misses some easy chances but scores good goals.

Harry Kewell: 6
bad for his standars, but looks like he is starting to get his confidence back.

Xabi Alonso: 9
our best signing this season. controls the game really good and GREAT passes.

Steven Gerrard: 10
what can I say. our captain. best player, great goals in crucial games and great inspiration for team-mates.

Milan Baros: 9
great seson for him, score alot of goals.

Neil Mellor: 7
doesn't appear all match but when he does he scores ( ask Arsenal)

Sinama-Pongolle: 7.5
when he plays does a great job.

Best Player: Steven Gerrard

Surprise Player: Djimi Traore

Best Signing Xabi Alonso

Fernando Morientes has stated that he would like to bring his unhappy return to Real Madrid to an end by joining Liverpool: ‘ I have always played at big clubs and when a side of Liverpool’s stature comes in for you of course you consider it’

‘I never wanted to leave Madrid, my heart is here but they no longer want me, if Liverpool are interested I would love to see what I can achieve for them’.

‘They are a great side and I think I can help to get them back where they belong’.

The player himself only recently returned to Madrid after a successful loan spell away, but now looks set for a move to the Premiership. He could of course help to solve Liverpool’s current striker problem and would be a good investment for the Merseyside club.

Also, good ratings, altho i think Hyypia is about a 6.5 and Carragher possibly about an 8.5 or 9. :)

I would say Carragher has bein our best player this season other than that you got it spot on :)

Can i ask something about Kluiverts goal. Wasnt Kluivert about 2-3 metres offside when the ball was played through to Bowyer making Kluivert offside? I dont see how the goal should of been allowed to stand. Can someone explain why the goal wasnt ruled out for offside?

I'd go for Stevie myself (media whoring and 'I'm the ******* man' comments aside). I agree that JC is having a good season though. Very solid, very few mistakes.

MORIENTES: I WANT TO PLAY FOR BENITEZ AT LFC

Fernando Morientes has pleaded with Real Madrid to let him leave the Bernabeu to play for Liverpool.
The Spanish striker is Rafa Benitez's top transfer target for the January transfer window as he seeks reinforcements in attack following Djibril Ciise's serious leg injury.

Madrid have so far given little indication that they are prepared to sell the 28 year old, but Morientes insists he wants to leave and he wants to play for Benitez at Anfield.

He said: "Madrid know my situation and they know they must do something about me. They must sort out the situation by being sensible.

"I am in a position where I want to play, and I will have to look elsewhere to do that. If Madrid do not want me then it's in the best interests of everyone that they are realistic.

"I haven't spoken to Rafa Benitez but I have always appreciated his work and I would like to play for him.

"There are things that must be sorted out now, and I hope they can do it. I am a Madrid player and my circumstances are difficult because I must wait for them to decide. But I would like it to be resolved with maturity.

"I like Liverpool and I am pleased that a club of their stature want to buy me. I have told Madrid that I want it to happen."
