USA wins 1-0 FT!

:clapwap: :clapwap: :clapwap:

For the first 60 minutes I think we were definitely the better team. We played confident, attacking soccer and continued to press forward even after we were 1-0 up. The last 30 minutes were all Argentina. They dominated and probably should have equalized, but kept missing the target. Messi is an outstanding player.

I hope Spector will heal fast because you saw what our defense is like without him.

I think the 0-0 would've been fair and that United States wasn't that better compared to Argentina. I'm pretty ashamed that the U20 Argentina completely lacks of attitude to attack instead they just wait there for the other team to attack and well they get to attack when they're down in the score, hopefully this will be solved in the coming matches i think using 4-4-2 doesn't work for Argentina they should stick to the usual formation.(:/)

What was Messi not doing in the starting line up?

Adu is pure cheat :kader:

sh*t I accidently deleted my message ...

Congrats USA, you guys probably deserved the win though we had many chances to tie it up.

Now I have to go into rant mode.

What the hell was Argentina doing !? :f***: That might be the worst performance I've seen by this level of Argentina. They did not want to play, it is a disgrace to those who have worn la camieseta albiceleste. :kader: The were not technical and just kicked the ball around. Maybe they were arogant and thought they could win by just stepping out on the pitch.

Messi is the only one who actually tried. Zabaleta, our captain, did nothing and did not set any sort of example for the rest of our players. Oberman did sh*t apart from hitting the post. Our defense was lazy as f*ck also. The players were not inspired and they didn't play.

The U.S. goal took a lucky deflection, but our defense just stood and looked at the ball as a US player just tapped it in. A tie probably would have been a better result but maye the team needs a loss to wake them up. I am not trying to take anything away from the U.S. but that was a horrible performance by Argentina. They better learn from it.

I have no f*ckin' clue, he's easily our best player. Our coach is an idiot too, no idea what he's doing.

Messi better start vs. Egypt and Germany.

Also, yeah Adu dives all over the place. Atleast he missed the penalty (6)

Maybe he just got fouled a lot because Argentina had trouble containing him?

Even I think some of the "fouls" on him could have been no-calls, and maybe he went down too easily on a couple of occasions, but I don't think he dived. And if you're talking about the penalty, it was pretty obvious from the replay he got kicked.

The penalty was pretty clear in my opinion, but he clearly missed too, however i think he still dived too much. At any rate this problem of attitude of Argentina better be solved they've been carring it even before this world cup.

Very determined play from the US. With an attitude like that we can win plenty of games, despite our shaky defence. Argentina coulden't contain Adu most of the time but even then good players get lots of calls their way, that's nothing new. Adu clearly looked nervous for the PK, nerves got the better of him but what do you expect from a 16yr old.
I really hope Spector heals up. The defence might be determined but they aren't going to last. Wynne looked impressive to me. Never seen him play before but I like him already.

Anyone else a little bit concerned with our goalkeeper Quentin Westberg? The kid looks about 5-foot-7, and looked lost whenever the ball was floated into the box. He's listed at 6'0 but there's no way he's that tall.

Yes, he needs serious work on set pieces. His reaction saves look good but positioning, decision making...needs a lot of work. He sure as hell doesen't look 6'0.

Congrats to the US for surprising the tournament favourites. :)

On the other hand, China 2-1 Turkey! :hump: :hump: :hump:

From what I read the winning goal was an amazing volley from 25 yrds! Anyone got any footage?

Cheers to the rise of new football powers! :p

here comes the underdog (H) !!!
The thing that really depresses me about that scoreline is that we somehow didn't manage to qualify but Honduras did. :( :nape: Some of Chile's goals were great, awesome performance. (Y)
