O'k, so I just read that Sir_Didier_Drogba give donuts to the homeless. So that brought this question to my mind and thus, this thread has been created.
So go on, post the most generous thing you've ever done.

On a trip to Mexico. A man had drank himself to sleep and had not paid his lunch meal on the Taco stand he was at. The lady/owner was trying to get him to pay but after several unsuccessful attempts, she called the local policeman. After realizing that the loss was going to be on the lady and her daughter, I decided to pay his tab of $5 dollars. Told the cop it was paid and left afterwards.

I met up with my friend who was living in Chile on an exchange year, she had got pregnant and was going out of her mind as abortion is illegal all over south america, she was considering back street so I found the roughest back street abortionist I could (and that aint easy when you dont speak spanish) and took her there to show her how dangerous it would be, then I paid with my own money (about £500) to fly her to the Falkland Islands which are British territory and therefore she got it done safely on the NHS. Beat that.

While on a trip to Rosario, Mexico. A woman with five kids was selling hand-made bracelets. I wasn't interest in the bracelets but instead, decided to buy all the kids and the women lunch, and told them to buy extra food for later on.

when I used to go to the university the tuesdays and thursdays, I used to make my lunch for three. Close to my university a native woman(K'uanhari) and her daughter(Pireri), victims of the violence of my country, sat to ask for money, I liked to invite them to eat.

I had a lot of fun with them, they teached me some of their language, I only learned orally. And I teached all I could to the little Pireri, to read, write and some maths. I never saw them again

Oh god, I pissed my pants I'm so sorry!

As I've been in great need myself at times, I'm not really in a position to call the things I do generousity or charity, more like...solidarity? I organize a market of free stuff and food once a month. We bake some cakes, do some coffee and tea for the guests and give away free clothes, books and so on. The stuff that won't be taken away, we donate to some NGO's that deal with homeless people or with families with many children. The two types of folk mentioned are the target crowd, but we do get some hipsters aswell

The little things count a lot too. When someone homeless or just old, comes to talk to you on a bus or on the street, most take them as nutters. I try to listen to them and talk to them, they thank me afterwards and that makes me feel like shit. Kind of like feeling ashamed to be a part of the generation, that has made communication between strangers look like something extraordinary.
