what do you say guys? for me there is no other game that has me banging the keyboard, throwing my game-pad around and getting the anger out on all family members. and oh god do i sware alot! its outrageous, but i can't controll myself. really nothing in the world gets me as mad as the FIFA series, i think its dangerous, i should probably lay off untill EA fix the AI.

*totti picks up the ball in the opposition penalty area, cannavaro gets right on him. totti turns around and slowly starts dribbling across the whole field all the way back to his own goal, cannavaro follows. cannavaro tackles totti from behind and gets sent off. I use the Ock Career Patch (not sure if he edited gameplay as well in that) thing but I find the gameplay to be incrediblly realistic. I never get guys doing dumb stuff like that. That would drive me up a wall though. I find my midfielders joining the rush and when I am able to sustain pressure I find all my defence pressing forward. The other thing I noticed is that players will play more towards their role. The best example is a guy on Leyton Orient that is a CDM (Simpson). He joins the rush but rarely at the expense of his defensive midfield duties. When I've used the man marking I notice players will indeed do a good job marking their assignment. Maybe try a gameplay patch or that career mega patch.
Don't fall for those other crap games. The gameplay is not all it's cracked up to be and those gamers say the issue with EA games is that you need patches. I'd argue that with those games you need patches for real life teams and players anyway. So it's just a matter of which you want more. Personally, I'd much rather have real players, teams, and leagues anyday. The other stuff can be adjusted. Keep gaming!

The great problem with Fifa is indeed that you need a decent gameplay to take fun with it. Another think I have to say is that there is setting in the original Fifa that let the CPU cheating: yes, really cheating: a file called intensty.txt inside zdata_26 big that regulates the intensity of the CPU playing style. Simply speaking it makes the CPU plays like superheroes if they are losing, so that sometimes you really have the impression that you are playing a tricked match.

This has been discovered by Fifaccitiu and Rinaldo, and the CEP contains a new intensty.txt setting that doesn't make the CPU cheats and give to it a realistic behaviour depending on the match result.

dunno about you...fifa gets easy after 2 monthes. on world class i win every game 4-5 to nothing unless the computer shoots a scorcher from 30 meters that i can't do nothing about... after you learn how to finish and how to use the through pass perfectly the computer will be at your mercy.

Isn't that the idea? When any team uses their through passes and crosses perfectly, most teams are indeed at their mercy. The problem is that it rarely materializes in real life that way And even when you are spot on the defence may also be equal to the task. I like the in game defence so far. Again I may have a gameplay patch though, if there is one in the Ock Career thing.

dude i agree, no game has ever made me bang, kick or throw my gamepad so much as fifa series.. actually quite facinating they succed to release, and sell that many games, every year.. they even accomplish to make me buy their game, in the hope of they actually made it..but every year, same disappointment (well, some of my frustrations can be read here: http://www.soccergaming.tv/showthread.php?p=1985694#post1985694 )

unbelievable that you pay that much for a game, which would never be playable, if it wasn't for OckHam and the other editers out there..

agree, the best game ever... as long as you just turn off the sound and let another guy get into the game for you.. man really, the menu looks like a copy-version of an old mario game, and the commentators are mildly said crap.
the thing is, i want FIFA all the way untill you press the start match button, then i want PES. they also have FCK in this years release, but when i choose master league, i have to play all these teams i've never heard about, and i want to play the danish league.

but PES is surely the best game, they've also made a MUCH better research in the playeres than fifa.. just hate their damn Amiga interface..

just put all the values to 2 and you're set.

Billy if you put all the valours to 2 it's VERY unrealistic: it's not realistic that a team plays in the same way if it's loosing 5-0 or if it's on 0-0 at 85'. I hope you are not playing with these settings, if so the gameplay experience would be really affected in a bad way (and so your opinion on fifa 2006): I can suggest you to look at the intensty.txt included in CEP (can't remember in which zdata, but next release will contain a much more rational division inside big files).

Well I play with your intensity.txt file and last time I looked everything was on value 2, or I must have been really tired, don't know. And Fifa 06 in it's original form is a pile of shiat, nothing can ever make me change my mind about that, I'm sorry.

Edit : the value 2 file was from another site, and it was in my "Fifa06 stuff" folder where I put all the trash inside that I have to test out before I install it, the other one inside my zdata23 has different values :
