No he can't. If he's played for another country, he can't switch.

I think there's an exception for newly declared states, because the player in question couldn't play for them before it's international existence. It's just whether they'll be full members of any confederation, not neccessarily UEFA as Serbia and Russia wil most definitly block any application for membership.

To answer your Q Parra: it's because there's a sizeable population of Serbs within Bosnia-Herzegovina. its a delicatly balanced power-sharing agreement, so all three ethnicities have to agree, if not then in this case they just decide on the original status quo. But still Republika Srpska might plan on breaking off and joining Serbia.

UEFA probably won't accept Kosovo, BUT they could join the AFC.

A friend of mine, her family is from Pristina. She's was born here in the US, and even goes by her English nickname, but she's ethnic Albanian.

She was quite excited over Kosovo becoming independent.

Swiss isn't Serbia though. I really don't think he can. If he played for Serbia, then yeah, but he chose to play for a nation that isn't his native region.
