As you know conversion from kit 07 to kit 08 is not useful way.
I started the design of a tool that should make the kit design for FIFA 08 an easier task.
It is based on the usage of templates in "standard colors" and each color can be replaced with a real color. Different templates can be overlapped (e.g. a temlate for the jersey, one for the shorts), sponsor and logos can be added and, of course a shadow multiplication will complete the job.
In order to make the project successful it is necessary to have a good libary of templates. I am not a good artist but I did some pictures just to give you an idea:

the rule of the color is the following
Black will be used as transparent color to show the lower layers
Red, Green, Blue, Yellow, Magenta and Cyan are 6 remappable color
White will remain white

If some Kit maker wants to contribute with templates that I can add in the distribution package of the tool he is welcome.

You and I had spoken about this idea briefly and I still think it is a fantastic idea that will again revolutionize the way we make patches... I'm not much of an artist either but I hope that many makers will contribute their templates.

When it comes to templates are the texture in white, or it comes of the desing, for example (nike, adidas, etc)??.
Certainly congratulations for your programs are fantastic, and thank for your colaboration with we.

Myx and generic oval have truly got the ball rolling with fantastic ideas. I think if the program was really as easy to use as myx's idea makes it seem then it would be billiant for those who cannot make kits but WANT to make kits (like me lol).

To further develop these ideas I think that all tye templates for all the sports brands (adidas, nike, canterbury, puma, carlotti ALL OF THEM) sould be callibrated with the colour controls on myx's diagram so that the user of the program can change specific things of specific templates. What should also be done is that areas where badges, sponsors, league patches etc go on should be placed onto the kits (shirts sleeves shorts etc) so that the user can load a badge or a sponsor logo and it appears in the appropriate place. I feel this would further enhance the program :)

If anyone feels I have not explained thoroughly enough or want more info in the form of diagrams etc then let me know. This project and the prospect is very exciting. I can see the kits forum overloading with hundreds of kits packs!!!

Sounds really great Rinaldo.

I think an very important feature would be, that new templates/shades can easily be imported, but i am very sure, that you have thought of this already.
And an 3D-Preview would of course be an absolute highlight.

I'm really looking forward to see th first version of KDM08
