My iPod actually came with both USB and wall charging cables, kinda crap that they don't do that anymore. Charging through USB sucks ass, takes twice as long..

I'm sure you'd be able to order the cable from apple...it has a firwire plug on one end that goes into the adapter.

I bought a Creative Zen Vision:M 30 GB 34 days ago because of the fantastic reviews. Most reviewers give it better ratings than the Video Ipod of the same capacity. For the first 15 days it lived up to the rating, but the past two weeks or so have been garbage. This player is a piece of **** and I hope none of you buy it. I have a problem DAILY! And that's when I actually bother to turn it on and try to use it. It works for about 20 minutes (if it works at all), then there's some kind of error (there have been many). After that it is a paper weight until I format the hard drive and reinstall the firmware. Of course this is the ONLY thing that works, and sometimes it doesn't.

Today finally I got a "hard disk error" which is the death sentence for an mp3 player. Of course it happened 4 days after the best buy warranty, but I'm going to bitch like crazy until they do something, and hopefully refund my full money. The player is a piece of ****, and I have a sneaking suspicion that the firmware "update" has caused most of this, although it did have its first problems before I updated it the first time. There is a ton of bitching at the creative message board for a whole host of problems, and the solutions offered are only temporary if they work at all. Of course most of the time they just say "are you running WMP 10 and Windows XP you moron! We know you aren't because this player is god."

DO NOT buy the Creative Zen Vision:M. NEVER EVER EVER.

For me, never buy Creative MP3 players full stop. There are many complaints here as well.

Anyways, it's like a mini laptop in some ways. I guess with a docking station (keyboard included), it's close enough..screen size being the exception. Now that I know what a handheld (or the like) can actually do, I'll probably be reading about it quite often. Too expensive, and irrelevant, for me though...I wouldn find it hard to resist if they could throw in GPS navigation technology as well.

I don't know about GPS but you can use Google Maps on it...

Shame Cingular will be the exclusive carrier until 2009...basically, us in Canada will not be able to get it until one of the service providers decides to make a move after then.

Turns out it one of the local carriers is in negotiations with Apple according to company officials speaking with Web developer John Wiseman. While the company provided no specific release information for the Apple handset during Steve Jobs' MacWorld San Francisco keynote beyond the June release for Cingular subscribers in the U.S., the Canadian firm says it is already in the early planning stages to bring the device to its service.

Timeframe: between 6-8 months after() the device is released in the U.S., placing an introduction roughly between late 2007 and early 2008.

My iPod just froze yesterday...I mean, it stopped playing/responding completely. I was listening to a song, and just as it was finishing that one and about to switch to the next one, it stopped playing, and I couldn't get it to react AT ALL. So I let it stay like that all night, and this morning it appeared as if it had turned itself off, so I try and turn it on, but all I get is that Apple start-screen symbol, which starts flickering and then disappears after a few seconds.
So now I'm trying to charge the battery (it was only half-full when it stopped), and it first it was merely showing a battery symbol, but now that's changed to a black screen with a white apple symbol........wtf?

I have a four gig ipod and want to buy a new 8 gig one. I'm not sure though if I should spend the extra $100 on an 8 gig iPod or spend them on an 8 gig mp3 player by creative. Any suggestions about buying an iPod compared to the other one?
