Sporting Lisbon 0-0 Inter
LISBON - Sporting Lisbon and Inter played out a goalless draw in Monday's friendly match at the Estadio Josè Alvalade, staged to mark the Portuguese side's centenary year. Mancini's men twice hit the woodwork:
Crespo poked a shot against the post following a flash of brilliance from
Ibrahimovic just after the half-hour mark, and second-half sub Alvaro
Recoba rattled the Sporting crossbar in the closing stages with a blistering 35-yard drive from a free kick. Inter played most of the second half in ten men following the dismissal of Marco
Materazzi for a second yellow card.
Before kick-off Luis
Figo , who captained Inter before making way for Ivan
Cordoba in the second half, was presented with a gold medal to mark his contribution to Sporting Lisbon's 100-year history.
Figo began his career at Sporting sixteen years ago and spent six seasons at the club before transferring to Barcelona. At Sporting he made his name as part of the 'golden generation' of Portuguese youngsters who won World U16 and U20 titles in 1989 and 1990.
