big games coming up today for Panionios and Egaleo.

especially for Panionios who can bring back some big point to Greece in the UEFA standings from Portugal and at the same time distance Greece from Holland that is breathing down our neck.

Egaleo is play Belgrade....should be a good match ...hopefully Egaleo can come away with a draw...

Starting XI
tough loss for Egaleo away.....4-0:(

Partizan showed its class in this game.

Egaleo showed its inexperience.

all hope riding on Panionios now.

I cant believe i haven't seen this thread before, pretty good job specially the introduction from Pontiakos. Bravo, an kai vazelos ;)

Seems like Panionios wasn't up for the job either (4-1 is a heavy defeat) so lets hope they get over it soon and make up for it in next matchdays, together with AEK.

All thoughts on AEK - Gavros (i'm with the latter myself) right now and some unfortunate events started happening here, with some "unknown" invaders throwing molotovs in original club of N. Smirni (or was it Kalithea?), just hoping this wont trigure a revenge of any kind.

And that happened despite both Demis and Kokalis trying to keep low tones till Sunday (for a change).

Sokratis even wished Pao to advance in next CL round, now thats news lol.

Unfortunate for OSFP is that Mavrogenidis is out for a month (after the injury and replacement with Monaco). On the AEK side, there seems to be quiet a tension awaiting for the game on Sunday. Katsouranis and Soares had a strong fight yesterday while training (Soares was obviously pissed from being in the subs team) which continued later on in apoditiria (?).
But both Katsouranis and Ruchev (or however you spell his name) will be available and on the squad, most probably with the addition of Konstantinidis in the left wing.

The Panionios loss was tough to handle especially since the team equalized twice (1-1 and 2-2 ....) but the second equalizer was disallowed. That was b*llsh*t, it was a goal.

Any way I'm not discuraged both Egaleo and Panionios were missing key players due to injury(Egaleo-Agritis, Panionios-Zimonic). Time will tell for all Greek teams in the UEFA competition.

For now

This has been a good season so far...
Rumours have Karagounis moving to AEK from Inter in January. That would be a great move for us as we could use a playmaker/gamebreaker.

Halkidona-PAOK and Egaleo-Panionios are the big games this week. I hope Halkidona and Egaleo can keep their performances going.

Starting XI
after this past week 8....PAO still edges out AEK for first place. Olympiakos is third. Here is the leader board

Panathinaikos(PAO)-19
A.E.K. -18
Olympiakos(OSFP) -17
Skoda Xanthi -14
Egaleo -14
Halkidona -14
Ionikos -11
Iraklis -9
Apollon Kalamarias -9
Kallithea -9
OFI -9
PAOK -9
Panionios -9
Kerkyra -9
Ergotelis -5
Aris -4

If someone had told me at the start of the season that Aris,PAOK, OFI,and Iraklis would be near relegation status at this point in the season I would have called them a liar.
congratulations to Xanthi, Egaleo, and Halkidona for their hard fought wins.

The standings in the table from top to bottom are so close. Most teams are only separated by 1 or 2 points from each other. This is definately turning out to be the more competitive Alpha Ethniki that most people were hoping for.

and Kerkyra is turning out to be the dragon slayer of the league this year, a role shared by Egaleo and Halkidona last year.

this past week's victim was Xanthi 3-0!!!
