Putting Karagounis on the bench is simply stupid. Just sell him to Palermo or another team like that and THEY will start him.

Well,it looks like Inter don't respect any player after all-they have become Europe's No 1 club in destroying careers-sad to say,as Inter are the club I used to support from Italy.
Anyway,Papadopoulos is realy a very hot prospect, although his recent form was poor,to say the least. It makes sense, since he never really had a moment's rest last summer(Euro 2004,Olympic Games,pre-season preparation with his club).

Italy has no respect for Greek footballers.

I think he's making the right choice staying at Inter, he's playing with great players and makes a good living. Italy do give greeks a good chance, I mean choutos ,georgatos, dellas, Zagorakis, Vryzas played in Italy and there are others too. Thing is Karagounis doesn't want to leave, he is content with inter. I think he's making the right decision.

Pao lost 3-1 to AEK in greek cup action today. Ivic's goal was fantastic.

The officiating was terrible, I n't remeber I single call that was correct in the game. The ref fell to easily for dives, the linesmen made several mistakes with throw-ins... But the ref falling for dives really costed pao, Cesar in the penalty box (he pushes the ball foward, goumas slides a little late but you can see he just falls down (which lead to katsouranis' goal) and Soares clearly diving outside the box wich lead to Ivic's FK goal. The officiating wasn't one sided but they called more false calls than correct ones.

Overall I thought AEK played smart and well, Kiriakidis is really impressing me by far AEK's best buy during the winter. Gekas is amazing too, almost scored a bicycle at the top of the box, created many chances. Gonzalez played well to, he skipped past defenders but could not finish well. I thought both teams were equal today and felt that PAO was just plain unlucky.

One more thing, get rid of Scazny. He's killing pao's chances at anything this season.

Limbe, I disagree, I don't think the officiating was that bad. It wasn't great--I agree, but I've seen it much worse. At least you cannot say that the referee dictated the outcome of the match. AEK deserved the win and the ref did not make any tragic errors.
Great match for AEK though. I'm very happy with how things are coming a lot.
Kyriakidis was great... and don't forget about Simos Krassas--he is also a great young talent.

As far as PAO and Papadopoulos... I think Konstantinou is better. At least he's shown that so far this season. I know Papa's been injured but Konstantinou is more impressive.

Congrats to AEK a well deserved win. PAO played like crap in the second half and deserved to lose. Good luck against Panionios.

yes Krassas is great too, he's definately one for the future and for the present of Cyprus. The officiating was bad, not as bad as other games but still pretty bad. I'm mean I saw like five handballs in the second half alone and those dives (soares winning that freekick was one of the more obvious ones), they made just a lot of little mistakes. Either way I think pao mostly lost because of Skazny, pao are now out of the greek cup and if things don't change soon they might be out of the title race and not to forget their uefa cup hopes.

We don't need luck against panionios, we'll kick their asses to shang hai and then Olympiakos' ass (unless if they like lose or something in the quaters).

Big upset this past weekend in Crete as Ergotelis defeated Olympiakos 2-1!!!

Panathinaikos is only 2 points back and AEK 3 from Olympiakos.

tough pill to swallow..........

Congrats to Olympiakos...Newcastle-OSFP....should be a great game...

My thoughts on the loss

1)Munch sucked this game and should have been taken out in favor of a second midfielder..............Wooter

2)Gonzalez is my hero.....leaving it all on the field like it should be done.

3)Goumas,Gekas,Galinovic,Papadopoulos,Kotsios,Vydra....excellent showings

4)Konstantinou....I hope he has found a home for next year because he's right about not being sure if he will be playing with PAO.

5)after 1-0 ...a second attacker should have been brought in ...Olizadebe..to combine up front with Gekkas. .....Sevilla played at the end with 5 strikers....we could afford having 2 there.

Malezani.....grade...C

Konstantinou is right now back in a scring form, but he should be hitting in more from the amount of chances he is getting. It would do him good to move abroad, so he can imporve and then he can come back. Every million we pay this guy, he scores in return 0.5 goals.

things are really heating up in the Alpha Ethniki

all three teams up top are squandering chances to move ahead. The big games for this week are

Halkidona-PAOK
and
Panionios-Egaleo

changes were made in next year's Greek National Cup-2005-06 set up.

All games will be played in a two leg format up until the round of sixteen were a league stage composed of two groups of eight will be formed. These teams will then play to legs each and the top two teams will play in the final.

This is preety cool, and different for the National Cup. I've never seen it and it is preety exciting. Lets see how it works out.
