The only position where the US is stronger than England is at goalkeeper. It is definitely easier to play for the USA than it is to play for England, but there are a few USA players that could play for England.

Germany - South Korea 0-2 :(

But who cares, I only know half of the team because the best 20 year olds are at home.

And Like Hugo said...Ivory Coast arent a bad team, just like all other African youth teams.
Yeah... I know they're good, I'm just allways happy when Mexico loses, at any level. ;)

I guess we'll have to disagree then. I really don't think there's much of a difference between the two teams. England are better, but not by much. England do have a lot more depth though, which would make it tougher for a player to break into the senior national team.

And Whitbread could've broken into the England side.

Definitely.

btw, unless I'm mistaken he's already had a few training sessions with Liverpool's senior squad this summer.

When Liverpool toured asia this summer, he was one of the youngsters along with sinama and latallec to make the trip. He also has a first team squad number and has been talked of highly by Gerrard houlier. Right now he starts regularly for the reserves at the age of 19.

Why are yall hating Mexico so much? I don't get it. If Mexico does well, it helps the US in the long run, because it means our region becomes more competitive. I don't rejoice when the US loses, in fact, I watched the US- Paraguay game this morning, and I was extremely happy the US won, even though I didn't get to see Adu in action, which is all I really cared for.

I mean, come on guys, like that dumb movie said: Don't be hatin'!

I'm not hatin'. Mexico are our rivals. It's perfectly natural to be happy when your rival loses. It's different with you anyway, sine you live in the US.

I allways root against Mexico. The lone exception for this is the World Cup, because then Mexico is representing the CONCACAF region on soccer's biggest stage. And even then I can't really say I'm rooting for them.

But this is the world cup too! These players are like, the future of our soccer.
And I want the US to be the #1 team in CONCACAF in the future. So you can see how I wouldn't be very enthusiastic if Mexico's youth teams were tearin' it up. ;)

Thanks for the info. :)

From fifa.com

"A clever flicked heel pass from Justin Mapp on the right fell perfectly for Johnson, prancing into his stride. After rounding left back Victor Mareco, his shot from a tough angle forced Silva into a clumsy save. Thankfully for the States Magee was there on the doorstep to bundle the ball over the line."

I think that pretty much describes 90% of the goals I've seen Magee score. :crazyboy: ;)

Man, Ivory Coast completely outplayed us for just about the entire match. They've got some really good players on that team. We'll see how things go. You could tell that Alberto Medina was missed. We could have used him. :(
