Man U draws against Liverpool and everyone is lashing out on Mourinho saying he is hopeless, with no ambition and ANTI-FOOTBALL. That same Liverpool team beat Chelsea and Arsenal both AWAY and Conte is regarded as a top class manager, and some people think Arsenal are going to win the league. Mourinho got his tactics right against a team that has beaten the top guns this season including Leicester.

The result in the context of where the season is at this precise moment was a very good one - and Mourinho astutely recognised that anything was better that letting direct rivals Liverpool get another three points ahead of them, and ensured that regardless of everything else, this did not happen. The problem for some fans is that they just want to see more, and more excitement, from these huge name new players. I was listening to the radio 5 call in show after the game and the United fans were very evenly divided between those who considered it a 'tactical masterclass' and a great result, and those who were very disappointed by the manner of the performance.

It was an awful game for neutrals but personally I don't think clubs should give one single solitary fuck about impressing neutrals, but Arnau will call me a regressive ape.

Pogba at his best will become like Yaya Toure at his best I think. Him costing 100 m does not mean he will have to score all the goals and make all the assists. He is playing central midfield. He is not going to have the same goalscoring impact as players similarly priced like Bale or Ronaldo. If you ignore his price tag, I think he's been pretty decent. He is still young and will probably be here for years. His price tag will eventually pay off. He is also a highly marketable player.

Pogba is a better player than Toure, he's been Djemva-Djemba so far because context doesnt help (and because he is not a finished product yet)

Touré's got a cooler agent though, Seluk. The most rational human being on the planet. If you've read the shit he has said about Guardiola then you get the joke. Yaya didn't even put a leash on him and basically let him ruin whatever chances he had at City with the agent spouting absolute rubbish.

Can't or won't? Yaya just doesn't have the courage to say what's on his mind so he's using Seluk as his puppet. Can't risk pissing off Guardiola himself.

The guy's been in decline for some good two years and who wants him anyway? Prolly off to China in January. Mancini wanted him at Inter, but unfortunately he's not there anymore.

Can't see Milan being stupid enough to sign Yaya Touré. I think every rational team should have learned something from his and Seluk's antics of late.

Fabregas isn't finished yet, but if they could manage to get him for peanuts (loan with an option to buy obviously at first), then it wouldn't be bad. Fabregas feeding Bacca would be a golazo galore. I don't even know if Montella is starting Bacca but whatever. Wanted to get rid of him in the summer because he wasn't suitable for his system. Scored a hat-trick on his first start though if I'm not mistaken.

Some Milan board member said something like they need a replacement for Montolivo, someone who could play in a midfield of two, and "Fabregas isn't suitable for that role". Bullshit or not, should he be available they wouldn't turn him down. Too bad he only functions properly for half a season though.

Bacca is good and regularly played. Would've loved us to sign him. Colombian Vardy. They wanted to sell him to finance other purchases not because of Montella.

Cesc once said San Siro seduced him and wants to play there. Would be a good move for all concerned. Montella could get him playing again. Milan are linked to Lamela as well but unlikely Spuds would sell him halfway through the season.

Well I suppose what else should they resort to. Not playing him? He's quite lethal in the box. I wish he'd play the same way for his national team. Doesn't really score much.

I was under the impression that he didn't suit Montella's "vision".

"Us to sign him?" Eh? Aren't you an Arsenal supporter?

Edit: What am I saying.. You meant for Arsenal lol.

Montella could, but those coulds and what-ifs don't count. There's no way in hell Spurs would sell Lamela.

We all want to see more excitement but we have to be realistic and have reasonable expectations given the last disastrous 3 seasons. I think we are playing better this season compared to the last 3 seasons and I am hoping for a top 4 finish.

Yaya Toure at his best for Man City was very good.

So far Pogba has done best with Herrera. Fellaini nullifies his impact, not because he is a bad player but because of his style. Pogba needs a good partner in order to perform.

Fellaini is a good ball winning midfielder but he will win it and make a short pass or a backpass. As a result, Pogba has to return deep. Herrera is different. He is way more dynamic and has better passing range and is able to move the ball forward much better than Fellaini. I wonder if Herrera can play as a single pivot with Pogba and Mata or Micki ahead of him in a midfield trio?

Not going to happen in my opinion.

There are at least 4 teams better than or equal to UTD. Win the Europa League would be a great thing for UTD (don't knock the Europa League, its still an achievement!) Good way into the Champions League too.

For the record I still think united will win the league

There have definitely been flashes of quality/exciting football which were not apparent last season, and overall performances have been better I think and more promising - my concern if I was a united fan would be the potential of Mourinho to ruin moral or lose the dressing room before they have the chance to really develop a winning style and therefore cause them to regress or play consistently below their abilities

If Mou doesn't get that team despite its identity crisis to top4 as a minimum, he should be sacked. Anyway, Man Utd biggest mistake was appointing Moyes who got rid of Fergie's staff and gave Looney a big fat contract making him bulletproof. LVG giving him the captaincy too. And Mourinho instead of making it right, went with it. He is a big fat waste of space forced onto the team.

AT least he has the guts to bench him.
