I've been playing around to see how good an editor really is. I don't usually use them to get my players to be better than they are, just to make some minor adjustments that I see fit.

First of all I start a new game a couple of times and look at one particular player and his attributes. To my surprise the players attributes changed from time to time. Why? Sometimes "Acc" is 18 and sometines it's 16 or lower, there is an important difference there.

Second I maxed the players attributes to 20 and when I started a new game some attributes stayed between 10-14 ... why? Also in this case some attributes are different from time to time. Why?

Third what is the max I can change on a player before his attributes begin to be randomise between 10-14?

dont excatly know why but this happend on all the previous editors for all the other cm's

cuz when u start the game in randomizes some of the stats


if there goin down to 10-14 check you player reputation locally and worldly

By the way ... how can the reputation be of any importance? I can understand that the potential may have something to do with the randomise attributes ... but reputation why? Anyway, why do they have randomise attributes?

The attributes arent random, theyre worked out based on Ability (Current-Potential is irrelevant, and just signifies what Current can get to) aswell as the number given for that attribute-This number is out of 255...HOWEVER, 255 isnt the highest. The highest is 255/2 - 1(that is 127), the lowest is 128.

So if you put in 120 for one of these attributes (that dont come out as 20), then you will get the attribute 20, no matter what the players ability is. If you make it 130, then it end up VERY low...

Usually, you dont need to make it 120 though, Experiment, but anything over 50 is usually overkill...If you have a players best attribute at 30-50 then it will be high, but as they age will come back down.

They dont "randomise attributes". They make it so that attributes come and go in ratio to the players ability ;)

Oki ... I have maxed the Potential and Reputation attributes for the player ... both Abilities to 200 ... the three Reputations to 200 ...

Now I found out that in the editor made by Michael Nygreen, v0.0.0.3, I've been experimenting and setting the players attributes to 20, I can't type in 30 it changes to 20 directly. I did it step by step.
First the "Mental part" and started a new game a couple of times to see the changes in the attributes, nothing happened really.
Then I changed the "Ability part", maxed the Reputations and the 2 Abilities and started a new game a couple of times, again nothing happened really.
Then I tried the "Technical part", maxed the attributes and started a new game a couple of times and here I could see that the attributes I changed really came into place. WOHOO
Then I tried the last part "Mental & Psysical", maxed them out and started a new game a couple of times and to my dissappointment almost every attribute, even those in the previous part, were lowered to 15. Out of 31 vivsible attributes in the game 9 were 20!!!! DOOOOH

Can someone explain that to me? What's the point of an editor if it doesn't give the player the attributes I decided him to have?

maybe there is a limit to how many 20's a player could have, thus so the result

SI said the stats may look different, but they will do as good as they do in real life. For example, Henry would be netting a hat trick each game if they give him 20 finishing. You get my point.

Although, Looking at Ewan's Owen, it does not seemed that unbalanced. For stats like that, you would expect Owen to be on at least 70 goals by now. But saying that, He only would score when he got the ball which is rarely because it is normally being knocked about in the Scousers pentaly box. :D

heheh...that because i only just edited his ratings....i have yet to play him in matches tho...should be interesting...however i think i'd change it back to his original ratings...its not fun playing cm with god like players
