Hello.

I'll set the scene. Just before the start of the 3rd season. I finished 2nd in Serie A (for the 2 people other than me who posted in my Messina thread).

Daniel Braathen is comng out of contract at season's end. He wants 17500 and the most I can offer is 11000. I have offered max. everything, wage rises, bonuses, the lot.

Should I sell him? He is worth 8 million, I reckon I could sell him for 10 million, who knows I might get lucky....

What should I do? I also recently acquired Pablo Nino in my squad and have an adaquete replacement.

Ask youre board for more money for wages. If youre coming ud be in the CL so youd have a bit of money in the Kitty

i think u sould try and sell if u can coz u dont want to lose all the money

Sell. Unfortunatly you might not get enough money for his wages int ime so I would just cash in while you can.

happens a lot this, id agree with everything liam says, it will be VERY hard to get anything above or even equal to his current value, but you might be able to get a 25% sell on clause on the transfer

I had the same with Braaten when I played Strasbourg, I could at the max give him 40k €, but the idiot wanted 100k € a week. I sold him to ManU for 32 million € Bought Montolivo as a replacement, he turned out miles better .

Well, I don't remember his exact value, but it was like 16 million. He had 1 year left

I never get good deals for my players, as Seph Blatter would put it, the rich European clubs economically rape me of my talent lol!

The best I ever got at Liverpool was £7M Hyypiä, £5M Henchoz and £10M Heskey. (which is only a £1M loss before wages of what idiot Houllier bought him for)

How good is Pablo Nino compared to Braathen? Often a fresh breath can mean more goals.

Looks like I'm selling. He is my top scorer, best avg. rating in Serie A 8.32, but I have back ups..... Hopefully Chelsea will offer and then I'll ask for more and not negotiable, hopefully they accept.

lol. I always sell my good players to Chelsea. I just have to offer the player to em, (even with a high price) and they will accept. Couldnt get any more easy

it mite be worth trying to risk losing the player on a free if you wait..... if he's loyal enough, the demands will be lowered.... ive signed one of the guys who was refusing, and the other guy is down to 200k/year over what i can offer
