perhaps you have misunderstood. I'll ask the question differently, When I uninstall the game and re-install it, all the faces remain. I have also uninstalled CM08. I have even deleted the fifa08_temp folder, and Fifa08 profile folder. All the faces still remain in the game, As i can remember previous Fifa games restored the default faces upon reinstalling. How can I fix this such that I can have my default faces back?

Delete all the zdata files then reinstall FIFA

4-4-2 appears when FIFA 08 is not able to understand which formation to use, probably you have the same specific formation assigned to multiple teams and this generates the confusion. I suggest a check with DB Master because you can see all the formations in the same table (check teams and teamwrite tables)

Export model files and textures from the day version.
Check the box for the night and select it (you wil see some warning files for missed files, do not worry, you are going to add them)
Import the model files and the textures from the day version, then change the texture images to create its night version (for example the sky). Last, do not forget the files for the GUI.

With windows explorer, like you do for any other file on a PC.

I got a doubt Rinaldo, it´s this directory "FM08_temp" in My Documents, i think it belongs to File Master, can i erase everything in that dir?, cause it´s reaching 100 MB.

im wondering if anybody can help me, ive installed cm08 and it opens up fine, but when i load fifa 08 it hangs , down the bottom its stuck on gui. so i thought i would remove one of the 3 gui files in CProgram Files\EA Sports\FIFA 08\data\gui to see which file was causing it to hang but no matter which one i remove it seems to load but give me a message 5000 unable to open gui file, obviously because theres one missing, but when i replace the removed fileback it just hangs, i even left it for 20-30min and nothing. any help would be great

When it says it is "loading GUI" I think it is loading the graphical user interface of the CM08 (which just means the layout of the program) it has nothing to do with the GUI folder of Fifa.

its just strange that it only works with one of the three files removed,
without all three i cant edit because things wont match up.

sure, they are temporary files.

No Keegan, it is really opening the gui files of FIFA 08, Asset, AssetCmn and Gui. Insted to remove them I suggest to replace them with the original version. suggest to replace

The columns formation and defaultformation. They should assign a specific formation (those with id < 800) to only one team. If a specific formation is assigned to more than ine team that could be the problem.

And one more question, if I am installing a cmp patch such as the 07-08 EPL update, do I check replace? And if I am installing a cmp patch such as the 3rd Bundesliga, do I check create?

About the first question: I guess you are not very familiar with computers, to find a file is not so difficult, so I let this task as an homework for you.

About create or replace choice: each patch contains many objects (teams, players, leagues and so on) you can select for each object if you want to create a new one or you want to replace a team, player or league already existing in your database. It is your choice.

Obviously I am not great with computers, and I have searched and found no such file (check my attatchment) as well as doing a google search. My reason for asking (which could be totally misconstrued) is that at first I had the CEP patch installed, but I uninstalled FIFA as well as deleted the FIFA 08 file in my documents and program files. I made a "clean" installation of FIFA and the team crests, kits and minikits were those of the CEP patch. I thought nothing of it and stuck a few cmp patches (formations and EPL) on. I got a Fifa.exe stopped working, even on another "clean install" with the same process repeating above. Forgive my n00bery, but I have no effing clue what I am supposed to do next.

Don't worry mate, I was joking.
If you want to be sure to have a clean installation of FIFA 08 you must be sure to remove the older installation. Go to
CProgram Files\EA SPORTS select the FIFA 08 folder, if it exists, and remove it completely. Do the same for your Documents\FIFA 08 folder. Now make a fresh installation from DVD and it will be perfecly clean.
