The Cheat Bug™

Excellent point. I am hoping to get my brother hooked on PES when I move back to Canada, so I can have another opponent that's not the damn CPU.

CPU "cheats" whit extra time. No mater what kind of opportunity you have, reffery will stop playing, but if CPU's in possesion the game will continue. I had a lot of 1vs1 opportunitis, but f***** reffery ended match.

Not necessarily. I've had occasions where the extra time has been much longer than usual and it's helped me score a tying or winning goal.

It just seems longer when they are putting the pressure on and you are waiting for the whistle. Yet when you are pressing the whistle comes all too soon.

One thing that bugs me is that the advantage rule is applied poorly. The CPU will foul you and even though you have a clear path to the goal with the ball, they will blow the whistle. That has happened to me countless times.

oh brother, i've noticed this many times...that's why it only says "stoppage time"....if the computer is attacking , the referee won't end the match until they have wasted all their possible chances..

the cpu cheats, or limits you movement, however you call it.
Even when you SC you still cant move at times. And sometimes the ball deflects unrealistically too the cpu's feet.
And im not saying this because i cant win, because i always do. I dont even play cpu anymore because its not challanging anymore.

It looks scripted at times, nothing will go right, you wont be able to pass the ball 3 times without losing it, your star player will miss a 3 yard pass, all the loose balls will fall for a CPU player and you'll lose 2-0. The CPU never tires, their 1,90m tall defender with 80 for speed will outpace Henry, your players will get fatigued after 4 games into the season, and the list goes on.

It's brutal when you lose that way but well, the win after is always more delicious. :)

Or lets not forget that you can only close down a player with two players. The one you are controlling by using your gamepad and the X button and the other you can call for by using the [] button. Thats right, only two. How many players can the computer use to close you down? How ever fecking many they want to...............that my friend is cheating and there is no denying that!

I agree with what you said grunger....

But I've had my fair share of games where everything goes my way and I get all the good bounces and my team can't miss. Last night I beat RM 4-2 with Barca....every shot seemed to find the corner... just one of those games.

I guess it goes both ways.

the only cheating from the "AI" is when you play on 5/6*.

They wont let a player run away from them, if you find yourself half a yard ahead of an "AI" player you quite often cant sprint ahead of them, because they will hack your heels down untill they bring you down, knowing that they cant catch you, and this rarely ends up with a card for them, but mostly ends up with a free kick to you.

i know players do this in real football but not as often as they do in pro evo, and not without consequences like a sending off.

Konami have to look at this for pes6

Depends. I find that when i'm on a lucky day usually the PC will spurn it's share of chances over the games, and my strikers wont miss any. On a bad day, i will outshoot Arsenal 15 to 2 and lose 1-0, at home.

But isn't that so like real life then?

I mean there are games where you do nothing right and win then games where you dominate and the ball seems to have net repellent on it.

That happened to me last night, actually.
I played At. Madrid away, and everything was going right for me. Messi was running all over, Ronaldinho kept setting up Eto'o for great chances, every shot in the box seemed to be close or a goal... my defence wouldn't even let the strikers get close to the box. I ended up winning 5-1, which is my best game at 5 stars so far.

Next game I play Cadiz at home. I hit the post SIX times, and Ronaldinho got injured, every attacking player was exhausted by the second half. And to make matters worse they caught me on a counter and scored. Ended up losing 0-1, when I could have had at least four goals if not more. Needless to say I was pretty pissed.

Damn that's so true

My best game on 5* was St. Etienne 7-2 RC Lens

5 goals from my striker Luyindula (I bought him in ML)

I could have been more as I had 6 penalties but their keeper stopped 2 of them and I hit another one wide. (I hate how the penalties work sometimes)

My best matches are At.Madrid 8-2 Barça on 6 stars, at home, and Real Madrid 2-7 Betis, also on 6 stars, at the Bernabeu. That scoring wise, as i feel i've played a lot better in matches i won 2-1 or 3-2.

I would have to say that my 3-2 win over Barça at the Copa del Rey final using Atletico de Madrid felt the best though. I pissed all over them and they scored twice. Managed to draw the match, and at overtime Kezman natched the winner, but boy that was pretty intense stuff.

Those tight matches are usually fun... that's where you really get the love for this game. Something you never get with the other football game.

I had that in the last match of the season in my first season with St. Etienne, where I came back from 1-0 to win 2-1 and that goal came in like the 85th minute which got me 6th place and CL position. I was ready to actually shout goooooooooooooool.... :)

Of course my wife just shakes her head....
