The point remains though! On the selfish part though, he did get a bit of a cut but you know how this things work, you expected him to just say he'd work for free so they could afford Melo or something?

Originally I read that they were gonna let Kobe hit free agency, then rebuild before they resign. I guess they figured that they aren't gonna get Lebron or Carmelo so they might as well gives Kobe all the monies.

Also for next season I don't think they have anyone else signed apart from Nick Young and some other bench player.
