I read sumwhere that Baptista is close to being an Arsenal player....... I guess that Wenger is really relying on signing him....... But if we do get him how would you think our formation will work since we always play a 4-4-2?????

Interesting that even though Henry has a contact with 'The Sun', they choose not to interview him and get quotes from Cygan instead, anything for a story.

In the traditional friendly with Barnet (won 4-1), we had a trialist called Christianval (sp?), i believe he is the same guy who was once at Barca. All i know is that he didn't make it there as a defender and went back to France. Anyone know anything about him?

And Helb scored his debut goal 2 mins in to the game

Bergkamp should have got the captaincy, i feel henry doest deserve it especially as though he just drops his head and walks when we are down, how would that look to the other players

Even if he won't play every game, he deserves it for atleast one season, maybe he will continue playing next season, he deserves it the most, he is influential for the club, the supporters and he has served the club for so many years, it doesn't matter if he retires soon or not, it is the thought behind it, he deserves it more then anyone....

Yeah but their are more older players at Man U if you compare it with Arsenal and they all can't be the captain.....and who knows? Maybe Gary will be captain if Keane stops. Dennis has been serving the club for so long and it is a fact that he is important for Arsenal....sure Henry is important, but only scoring goals isn't needed to be a captain, you have to be a true icon to represent the club and I believe that Dennis is Arsenal's icon. Dennis is a true legend and he promised from the start that he would be ending his career at Arsenal and he is about to do that, Henry is still young anything can happen. And besides that wasn't Dennis always captain if Vieira wasn't playing or is it my imagination...?

Cole set to make Arsenal U-turn

Reports suggest that Cole will be offered a new wage deal which will see his salary more than double, from £30,000 to £70,000 per week.

He will only sign a 1-year extension to his current contract, giving him 3 years @ £70k per week.

Hardly commitment, when you compare it to Reyes, who dispite admiting to finding it difficult to adapt, signed a new 6-year deal.

I guess Cole and his agent got what they wanted and some.

As for the captaincy i think Henry is the right choice because he will play every game. Anyone see D.Bentley get the armband in the 2nd half, maybe he will stay with us this season and get some 1st team action, good for him, and the more he can learn from DB10 (good for us in the long run).

Well actually not for United, he would have never moved from City to United, but a lot of the Arsenal guys here already had him in their future line-up, because his dad played for them....
