I like to mention some things for those who didn't know, Turkey enslaved Greece for 400 years. During that time the turks tried abolishing our religion and language. By the way Turkey mutilated our historical statues (that explains why they don't have any arms or heads or legs). They put a bunch of gun powder in the pantheon like morons, it effectively destroyed much of it and completely destroyed our statue of Athena. By the way a man by the name Athanasios Diakos rebelled against the turks, he was severly wounded and undermanned with 48 against a big turkish army, but fought so well that the turks wanted him as a commander all he had to do convert to islam. He refused to and famously said "I was born greek and I'll die Greek!" and thus was roasted on a spit by the cruel turkish army. That's who it ws it was either you became of turkish faith or you were to remain enslaved and under their rule. His spirit exist in most greeks who are proud of their histroy, language and culture. People like him overthrew the turkish rule and effectively resulted in Greece's independance. As for the genocides, they did happen, many people were killed in very genocide circumstances by the turks and they acknowledge the fact that people died except they don't consider it a gencodie. Btw don't say we went around slaughtering people, we went to war fairly and didn't seek to kill innocent people. The genocide is a historical fact, The Pontian Greek Genocide was a genocide of Greeks in the Black Sea province of Pontus. It started in 1916 and came to the final stage in 1919. It cost the lives of at least 353,000 Greeks. Survivors fled to nearby Russia and eventually to Greece after the 1922 Asia Minor Catastrophe. One of the methods used in the systematic elimination of the Greek population was the Labour Battalions (Turkish: Amele Taburu, Greek: Τάγματα Εργασίας Tagmata Ergasias). In them, mostly young and stronger people were captured and forced to do exhausting slave labour by the Turkish State, in order to reconstruct areas destroyed during the Greco-Turkish War. They were considered to be concentration camps amongst the survivors was the well known writer-novellist Elias Venezis, who later described the situation in his work the Number 31328 (Το Νούμερο 31328). Another method used by the Turks was to force the weaker population, including women and children, to walk for hundreds of kilometers until they died. This was known as the "Light Death". The only thing missing was the gas chamber that really is the only thing that differs from the nazi concentration camps.
This is how Turkey stands on the whole genocide thing; They simply don't consider killing over 300,000 people a genocide. That's unheard of in a war, killing that many innocent people only the nazi have done worse. So what do you call killing that many people in that kind of that nature?
Also I'd like to to say that I'm sick of fyrom's (F.Y.R. Macedonian people, I don't know how else to call them sicne they not macedonian it just a name they stole from the greek macedonians). They say alexander the great is of our their ethnicity despite the fact he was born the in the greek state of Macedonia (northern greek state, the city of Thessaloniki is there and players like Dellas and Zagorakis are of there) and he went around teaching, the contries that he conquered, greek and converting them into greek orthodox. They have made an effort to claim the history of the greek state of macedonia as their own since they have such a lack of history in their contry. So if any fyrom ever says anything about alexander the great not being greek or anything remotely of greek history being acknowledged as of their own history tell them they're stupid and they should go **** a donkey. They're not macedonian they're slavs, greeks born in the greek state of macedonian are macedonian. They try to hide the fact they come from bulgarian roots with very little important independant history on the global level and compensate by claiming greek history. You might say who cares but were talking about 4000 years of history here, I wouldn't people getting confused in the future doubting what is true with make belief. We greeks our proud of our histroy just like everbody else and I think I speak volumes here when I say anybody'd be pissed off if another contry claimed your history.
Like imagine if Mongolia claimed they invented gun powder and built the wall of China. That's what fyroms are doing to us.
As you can all see we have a lot of anymosity with us between turks and fyroms(phony macedonians). Too bad we neighbor each other. This all has to do with what I just argued.

Limberopoulos21 said:I think your racist and unfunny. Turkey was responsible for killing 300,000 innocent greeks off the coast of turkey and those in Konstantinopoli(today instanbul), that's nothing to be proud of. Those figures don't even include those who were enslaved. It was barbaric and what's just as distubring is that things like this didn't even happen 1000 of years ago, it happened in the 20th century. As far as i'm concern, those crimes that were commited were just as bad as those of the nazis and those of the former yugoslave president resposible for the genocide in his contry. It was pitiful, just like trueturks comments.

Limberopoulos21 said:BTW 1974 as I recall Turkey invaded Cyprus and seized the northern part forcing greek cypriots to go south and southern turkish cypriots to go north. The army is still there today, but for what reason?
Limberopoulos21 said:yeah a massacre is imminent even today, good reason to still keep your army there.
How can you call our actions ironic when your contry was responsible for killing our grandfathers... you think they want to share an island with your contry men, you think later they'll just buy some beers and have a good laugh about it and get along? I guess that's what Turkey must have been thinking after their 400 year enslavement of Greece was over? They must have thought Greece will get over it. You guys are just ignorant and your ignorance resembles that of your governement who just can't quite understand why the greeks are so pissed off at them.
