Starting XI
no one can honestly say he isnt
there is a few players who have closed the gap
fevola, neitz, tredrea (CHF, but he kicks goals), petrie looks good

but the true FF is going out of the game, players like lloyd are getting rarer, even he is playing more up the ground now

Starting XI
just watching the foot show on 9 and they highlighted 3 mistakes that the umpire made in the last minute of the game of carl V north

1.the out on the full was such a small free kick that it shouldnt of been given at that time and place of the game
2. the kick in from simpson to wells didnt travel the full 15m yet was paid to be a mark
3. campo has a free kick after the siren in the centre of the ground, and the north players were celebrating through the mark wen he kicked it, but the umpire did not give the 50m penalty which would of brought him within 50m directly in front of goal

Haha, the out on the full call was such a bad decision to make, and at that stage of the game play should definately have allowed to be continued. But sometimes luck is on your side with those sort of calls and sometimes they go against you.

Thats right.

North deserved to win anyway. They made the most of their opportunites throughout the game, and I thought they played consistent football for the whole game.

They didnt neccesserily translate there good football onto the scoreboard. Shannon Grant was awesome, along with Adam Simpson and Drew Petrie for four quarters.

St. Kilda look set to beat Richmond quite convincingly, the pressure will be on Danny Frawley. thats 6/8 for me this week, I'll take that.

Yeah i tipped St Kilda to make the 8, and they seem to be going great guns so far. Richmond and Geelong look like wooden spooners. But yeah 8/8 for me in the tipping this week, total of 21.

Geelong played so poorly on saturday night, even if they were winning for three quarters. Playfair owned the field for a short period of time, only for his team mates to start with the 'over lapping handball and short kicking'' game.

I was frustrated watching it even though I go for the pies.

italianstyle87

Starting XI
they played poorly because they are the worst side in the competion
the team is supposed to have "potential" but the group of youngsters is taking a long time to live up to this potential
gary ablett, kelly and ling are the only class youngsters worth mentioning

Its the coach. Hes done nothing for the club, He is the Tony Shaw of the new era. It will be six waisted years before the geelong footy club let him go.

Haha, yeah well i thought we were in for a bit of a percentage boost coming up on playing Geelong, but they do have a fairly good record at the SCG im sure..... Won here a few times in the last couple of years.

I dont think Melbourne clubs are scared of playing in sydney, they never have been as well. Theres been no real advantage for the swans since they moved 20 years ago. A teams always got a good chance playing at the SCG, where as at the gabba or subiaco, you'd take a small loss before the game started.

italianstyle87

Starting XI
nah, sydney play the SCG really well with their running style of game, because its so small
also there is the crowd factor
trust me, u take a loss when u go the SCG

Senior Squad
Yeah over 97-98 i think we won 18 straight home games at the SCG, that was a time when it was a real fortress, for any team travelling interstate its going to be tough, although some teams do have relative success when playing at a certain ground away.... Example?

Haha, i'll have to look something up, ive got an idea of a few teams who travel well to certain grounds...... Port Adelaide have won 4 of the last 5 at Subiaco against the Eagles, so theres one.

But yeah, even Essendon havent lost to the Swans at the SCG since 98, where as Carlton havent beaten the Swans at the SCG since 93....

Overall i guess, over the last 8-9 seasons the Swans record at the SCG would be pretty good none-the-less.

Well I think I can safely say that clubs would prefer to play a game at the SCG instead of a ground like the Gabba or Subiaco, or even Aami Stadium.
