So, Germany without 3 of its top midfielders, its best attacker and starting left-back. Brilliant. Probably more that I'm forgetting.

Yeah, completely forgot about them ... even Khedira and Shweini are not 100% ... great chance for some young players though ... and good for Ozil even at his worst form

no greater danger than playing it safe? along with the agony, Ribéry will undoubtedly feel the irony ...

also, the #VemIbra campaign seems to have worked, at least in the cartoon world ...

Make America Great Again
Would have made a lot of sense to bring along both Benders. I've always wanted to see them in the same midfield.

I don't think Germany will be good, but they have a pretty easy road if they can win Group G where they are still the best team. They'll face the 2nd place team in Belgium's crap group, then either the 2nd place team in Argentina's crap group, or France/Switzerland. Still should be favored to go to the Semis, but I'm really starting to think they will get knocked out by Hitzfeld.

They certainly shouldnt be played against unglamorous teams with nothing to lose - how are a Jamaica with no meaningful games all summer going to do anything other than slam into France? My suggestion would be to play Friendly games against the top SOuth American club sides, that way you get used to the climate and also generate a little more revenue for Football in SOuth America. Obviously this plan would fall down in Qatar where there are no top clubs.

Which brings to light a real question, where the hell are the teams going to train? Does Qatar *have* 32 training facilities?
