where are those users that were saying i am an idiot for saying he will never be a big player...just a big talent nothing more same like robinho and saviola and riquelme...but i am glad he scored FINNALY!!!

Tevez isn't overrated, he's a lethal striker, has a great shot, he's fast and strong, and has good technique, with the proper motivation and people behind him he will become a very good player.

yeah Tevez is a great player and would kick ass in any other league. The only difference is that Tevez has accepted the EPL challenge and has quietly been working his ass off for this club without wanting to leave. That's class if you ask me (Y)

Aparently the EPL is cryptonite for S. american players (Great ones too)
- Crespo? Forlan? Both struggle in this league yet kill it in international competition and in their own leagues.

Well, Tevez is a great player, but not exactly a deadly finisher... he wastes way too many chances.... He used to score bag loads in Brazil, but that's only because he had lots of chances (which he created himself, most of the time)

In the EPL he can't play by himself like he used to do in Brazil, hence the lack of goals. Glad he scored his first, hope he can build on it.

He is not overrated. He is an exciting talent. This is the first time he has played in Europe and to start off in one of the hardest leagues with a team that is having problems since the beginning of the season its not easy. He is in the wrong league if you ask me, I can see this kid ripping up Seria A or in La Liga of he works hard.

I agree with everything you said. However, even though he's in the "wrong league", I'd love to see him stay and prove himself now that he's scored. He said he came to West Ham hoping to be an idol, so hopefully he shows the determination to stick with the club. A flight to Spain or Italy would be the easy way out, though you can't blame him if he ends up there. It'd be great to see him gel and excel in the English game.

Good to see him scoring, he better get some more because with the recent performances at West Ham, today we can say that he doesn't have a spot in the national team.

Indeed, as were the Spurs duo of Ardiles and Villa during the 80's when the English game was tougher than it is now.

Any player can cut it in England. It just needs a bit of commitment and hard work which Tevez seems to be doing.

Great game and love his celebration. Its ashame the defense totally failed and allowed the game to slip away. Would have it it all the more sweeter.

I would hate to see Westham relegated, they are having a nightmare of a season but a team with so many starts and one of the best youth academies in England they have produced so many good players. But it looks like they are going down I hope they can hold on to their players and comeback in 2009 stronger. Great show they put on against Tottenham. Boyer's tackle on Lennon was stupid the ball was going out anyway, but they lost a vital game and have to pay the price.

haha that celebration was sick; nice to see him finally score; tought i do agree he is very overrated, but like passion says it may be the premier itself it doesnt suits him, i might think the german league would suit him better , diego is doing wonders since we moved there from portugal; some players are just made for certain stlyes/paces of game.

well only time will tell for Tevez. But so far even though he hasnt scored, fans can tell he's got skill. About west ham, its VERY hard for them not to get relegated (10 pts behind Man CiTy).

We should make this the official : "West ham relegation battle" thread .....im serious.
