I just got WE9 for North America, and im wondering if any of those patches will work for my PC game? Which is the best? Do the patches have the real names of the clubs or do I have to edit them myself. If I get 2.5 powerpatch do I also need 2.0,2.1 etc.

EDIT: Whoops can this be moved to General.

watup....im also playing we9, im from the states. ive experimented with the powerpatch and superpatch, and various kitservers and option files, etc. ive decided to settle with 2 different option files that i choose from: either WATSONS v3, or WSAG Evolution v2.5. These option files update the leagues, teams, rosters, faces, uniforms, boots, stadium names....ummm thats more or less all it does. but its like a complete remake of the game.

the PP, SP, and kitservers u can find do the same thing, but some of these also take the game to a whole other level. for example, i think it was the powerpatch that COMPLETELy changes everything, like even the intro screens. i actually think the powerpatch kinda turns your WE9 into PES5 too. i mean, they are essentially the same game, but all the menus say PES5 instead of WE9. i wasnt cool with that so i got rid of it, i dunno how ull feel about it...

i tried FabioS's kitserver and some other kitserver that did some cool things i wish i could still use...they included "minikits" which change the way the uniforms look during strip selection. instead of the standard, low quality, fuzzy uniform pictures u get when choosing you and your opponents kit, you'll get a higher res, sharper image of the uniform, with all the badges on it, including the ads on the chest. this doesnt add anything really to the gameplay, so i didnt care much to get rid of that.

one thing i miss tho, that the kitservers did for me, was it added hundreds of new balls that i could choose from during the strip selection. it included alot of Adidas and Nike balls, along with some other brands like puma, diadora, umbro, etc.

you seem like you're pretty new to the whole patching thing. i am too, but it took me a weeks worth of intensive research and experimentation to finally find the right patches to make the game the way i want it to be.

i dont know exactly what you want, but ill tell u exactly what i did to make my game the way it is, so if u want, u can follow my steps and have the same game i have...or...u can go off on ur own and dl some other files that may cater to what you prefer.

as i said earlier, i got the Watson OF v3, and the WSAG v2.5. you cant use them both at the same time, you just use one at a time. right now im sticking with WSAG.

these downloads are small, 1 file downloads. they will include a file names: "KONAMI-WIN32PES5OPT" first, you need to change the name of this file to "KONAMI-WIN32WE9UOPT" this makes it compatible with WE9, instead of PES5. next, you put this file in this directory:

..\my documents\konami\winning eleven 9\save\folder1

that is..assuming you installed in the default directories. there may already be a file in there named the same thing. BACK THIS FILE UP if you think you mite want to go back to how the game originally was, before you start using your new option file. then, copy the new option file into the folder1 directory, replacing the original one (that you hopefully backed up). now, just start the game. the first thing it will do is load the option file. next, start checking out the complete epl, bundesliga, spanish primera, etc! you'll notice the changes. THATS ALL YOU GOTTA DO!

if you're working with KITSERVERS instead of OPTION FILES, then wat u gotta do is...

after you download a kitserver, you'll have a big folder named "kitserver" put this directory in
C:\program files\konami\winning eleven 9\
next, open up the kitserver folder while its in this new location, and run the SETUP.EXE file. the program will open, and since you put the kitserver folder in this specific directory, it will detect your we9.exe file, and there will be a button that says INSTALL. click install, and a window will pop up saying it has installed correctly (assuming it does install correctly...ive never had a problem). and thats it! sometimes a kitserver download will come with a readme file of some sort, and it will require you to do a couple more steps that may require a little more expertise...im not really at that level of patching yet so maybe you can ask someone else to help you with that if u run into it... =)

anyways, i hope this helped some. peple helped me out alot so its only right i give back. and plus im MAD bored rite now. maybe ill go play some more we9. PEACE!

oo another thing...theres this cool lil program called PES EDITOR. its a program that lets you alter option files. so if u dl an option you like, but want to make a couple of small, changes to it (maybe you want to trade 1 player to another team or something), you can do it in this editor. this program also allows you to combine certain aspects of different option files, so you can create a custom option file suited to your needs. for example, if you want the rosters/team names from option file X, but you want the actual kits and uniforms from option file Y, you can combine the 2 things using the PESFAN EDITOR 5.08 program, so you can have the beset of both worlds! heres a link to odl the program:

peace and goodluck!

I know this is an old thread, but i have a question that hopefully can be answered.
If you use kitserver, then do you have no need at all to use an option file? If you don't need to use an option file, than is the only way to update the transfers to do it by hand?

yeah but i have this problem where the kit's logo appears twice on the players jersey, so for example for portsmouth i get to "oki" sponsor appearing twice and it is the same with the portsmouth badge., and i am wondering if this occurs because i have kitserver running and i downloaded a different option file. has anyone had the problem where a double logo and sponsor appears on the jersey?
