Super Cancel

EA Sports have finally done it, FIFA is brilliant, ive been playing PES since 99 and now FIFA has caught up, but.. how do you super-cancel like in PES (make the player run a different direction to that of the automated chase the ball)

any help is very appreciated. by the way i have my dummy move/cancel set to R2 if that has anything to do with it.

I don't know that there is a super cancel per se, but there's a similar feature when passing to another player on your team. After you pass to another player, hold down R2 and L2 at the same time and the player receiving the pass will sorta step away from the intended path of the ball.

The dummy/cancel button has been there since at least the last fifa but it doesnt work in the same way that supercancel does (my view is that supercancel lets PES down anyway and your directionals should automatically supercancel). My 06 manual says -HINTS AND TIPS/Dummy/Use a dummy ....to let the ball go past, turn and control it on the run.
Alternatively, let the ball go to a team-mate...... You can also use it for a fake shot.
If what Fumbler is saying is correct then those shoulder buttons are the same as PES I think.
And this game looks good from my initial interaction, also there are differences from the demo which I was pleased with already.

I'll have to verify it later, but i think the R2 and L2 cancel only works on passing to one of your teammates, whereas in PES it can be used in various different situations.

thats right fumbler, on pes it works in all situations, both defensive and offensive.
