Sunderland all-but promoted.

With three games left, Sunderland F.C is at the top of the FL champ, with a 5 point coushon between it and the third place team, Ipswich town. Essentially things are looking good for them to get the push up to the premiership. A little Newcastle-Sunderland anybody? :)

My good friend is a huge Sunderland fan, he even has is little 4yr old kid in a Sunderland kit, I was talking to him yesterday and he was really excited about them going up. I'll be rooting for them in the Premier League.

Help?

Meh, they will go down as fast. Just like West Brom. Dominate the FL Champ, but one of the worst in EPL.

I dunno about West Brom, they look like they just might pull it off. they're one point above the drop line, but thier form is looking good. I wouldn't count them out at all.

Thats good to see Sunderland in the EPL again...
and how about the other 2 teams that will be promoted? how many teams are going to play a "little competition" (what is it called??) to decide who are going up next season???

Well done Sunderland, now all I have too wait for is you to beat your own "lowest points ever in Premier league history" record next season :fool:

Well, er, I'm not sure what you mean here, but I'll explain whats up.

The team that finishes in second is automatically promoted along with Sunderland. As it stands right now, It will probebly either be Wigan or Ipswich. The teams in 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th, play a "playoff", that is, elimination rounds. The team that wins the final, gets the third spot. the teams that have any chance of making the playoffs are:

Ipswich
Wigan
Derby
Preston NE
Reading
West Ham
Sheffield

Hopefully the Sad Mackem Bastards drop the rest of their games and stay down; hopefully even drop next year to the new D1. Derby need to come up though, I used to love watching Derby's miracle push to finish 4th worst in the EPL every year.
