do you play well against teams you expect to lose to then get demolished by teams at the bottom of the league?? well i've been playing for 1 and half seasons now (about 8 matches left of season2) and i've finally managed 2 stop my wolves team from getting destroyed by teams in and around the relegation zone, and now i have some form of consistency so i thought i'd help any1 else having a similar prob.
k well 1st off check the screen, if u know ur fm players u can c i've strengthened my squad quite well, (not playing as a big club so don't have the money to afford big names!) 1st thing i did was strengthen the back line then got some fire power up front, although i had to wait for my 2nd season to be able 2 get the budget2 afford some of these players as they didn't come cheap! so strengthen to the best your budget will allow you to, in my opinion a few good players are better than 1 star player. (also seriously try to make sure you have adequate cover i've noticed this years game has a nasty habit of injuring new purchases for a few weeks in their 1st few matches!)
create tactics that play to YOUR teams strengths and cover its weaknesses i recommend creating two or three different tactics, i have 3 but lately i only use 2, the formation you see in the screen is my defensive formation i use it against stronger opposition but against teams i expect to beat i play 1 attacking mid and two up front. the tactics may not get results straight away but the way to judge there effectiveness is to watch the matches closely n note how many GOOD chances your team creates and note wether goals conceded could've been prevented. If its a player error, there's nothing you can do about it without money so thats not a tactical problem! for a defensive tactic, remember you cant stop good teams from creating chances but note the kinds of chances they're getting if you're forcing a lot of long shots you're doing it right if they're getting a lot of one on ones and carving your team open regularly, the tactic needs work. (spend some serious time on the tactics, the templates are good but make sure they aren't asking you're player to do things they can't do e.g. player with passing 11 set to through balls often will just end up giving the ball to the opposition more than playing successful through balls!)
and finally player instructions, DO use them i've noticed they have a bigger effect in this game, before a match check out the opposition players and determine the best way to deal with them. set a specific player to man mark big threats i've noticed this has a better effect than just setting instructions to tight marking and always.
hopefully all this info was helpful! if any 1 uses any of it let me know how it works for you!
