Can the number of substitutable players in reserve bench be increased from 5 or 7 to 11 or more?

I think eddywuiscool wants to know if he can increase the number of substitutions that he can make in a given game. Like instead of 3 substitutes, you can make 5 or 7 substitutes.

There is an in-game option called "# of starting subs" which you can set between 5 and 7. That is the amount of players seated on your bench, not how many substitutions you can make.

One thing that may work is to change the values AIS_HOME_SUBSLEFT and AIS_AWAY_SUBSLEFT from 3 to 5 or 7, then resetting your profile and going applying a situation starting at the beginning of the game. That might work.

If anyone knows another way to increase the number of subs you can make in a game, I would be interested primarily due to the fact that I play 45 minute halves and there are players tired by the second half. Also, the CPU substitutions bug makes it so that the CPU subs in a player then subs him out, then usually uses its 3rd sub to sub the 2nd player out. (which makes no sense from a fatigue perspective)

So having 5 subs available may solve that CPU subbing bug to an extent and at the same time making it so that you don't have more than a few dead tired players in the 2nd half of a 90 minute match.

how do you edit the AIS_HOME_SUBSLEFT and AIS_AWAY_SUBSLEFT part?

eddy, i tested this and to my delight, it works!

AIS_HOME_SUBSLEFT and AIS_AWAY_SUBSLEFT are located in common.ini in the "Situation VARs" subsection.

Try this: change the values AIS_HOME_SUBSLEFT and AIS_AWAY_SUBSLEFT from 3 to 5. Then, save the common.ini file and place it in your FIFA 10 directory. Next, startup the game. Go into Game Settings, then click the "Reset settings to default", which will reset your profile to the defaults located in common.ini. Scroll over to "Scenario". Scroll down to the 3rd page and notice that the Subs remaining for Home and Away are blank. (this is because it is reading your custom value of 5)

The first option under scenario in game settings is "Apply to Match". If you select Yes, under that, then you start a game, go to team management.

Notice that you have 5 substitutions available instead of just 3!! Truly helpful for those matches that go into extra time and most players are depleted of energy.

So, yeah unfortunately this only works under scenario mode. But it does work! If only this could be altered to allow up to 5 subs for a regular non-scenario match.
