One of the big omissions from previous FIFA games that initially caused me to move to PES was no substitutions being made by the CPU unless it was for an injured player.
In PES the CPU will make subs either for injured players, exhausted players, or for tactical reasons. I'm not sure what the logic in the code used to determine this is, and even if it's good logic but at least it does make changes to the squad.
A huge part of football is the ability to alter your on-field team by making substitutions and so far from what I've heard, yet again FIFA does not make CPU substitutions.
So if the on-field players are not performing well OR a certain player is absolutely exhausted the CPU will not replace him with a fit fresh player.
Is this true or has anyone seen the CPU make tactical (non injury based) subs?
