I just came up to somwthing really strange....unless we believe in superstitions.
1988:Holland-USSR 0-1 the first group match for the teams
Holland-USSR 2-0 the Final
1996:Germany-Czech Republic 2-0 first group match for the teams
Germany-Czech Republic 2-1 Final
2004:the story goes on.....
Every 8 years.....the same story.Isn't it strange?

Yes.

What else is strange is that USSR beat Holland in opening game and then lost in the final 2-0.

Is that a sign of things to come? (Maybe it happens every 16 years!)

64 - the home team won (spain)
84 - the home team won (france)
04 - will the home team win? (portugal)

if yes, I bet every country in europe will be fighting for 2024 euro!

haha yeah. I was trying to find some sort of sequence like that, but you did it for me. Thank you.

I hope history doesn't let us down. Portugal is my tip now. But the Greeks could pull an upset again. That would be a disaster (not for the Greeks though obviously).

Holland coach refered that match after Greek victory against Portugal. Hope he is right
