Colbert satirizes "opinion" based shows on MSNBC and FOX, such as the O'Reilly Factor. in my opinion, it's better than the Daily Show, because Colbert keeps the blatant right wing image for the whole show, with almost no mistakes. this was one of the reason why the "right wing" loved this show so much, because it wasn't as "offensive" as the Daily Show, or so they thought. this dinner show done by Colbert was the last straw for them, and now most hate his guts (although some acknowledge that it was funny, and indeed worth the title of truthiness.

apart from the politic thing (which I don't really like a lot), Colbert was a regular in Stranger with Candy (also was executive producer). and who can ever forget those Mr. Goodwrench commercials? anyway, he's (H).

It was good, but it wasn't THAT good.

He's not as brilliant as some people seem to think. The Colbert Report is a one-joke show. Seriously. It's the same thing over and over again. I thought it was awesome when it first came out, but the novelty has worn off. There's only so many times you can satirize such a narrow group (ultra-conservative TV personalities) before it becomes tiresome. That's why The Daily Show is and always will be better. It's just more diverse.
