I just updated the first post with the roster and my god does it look thin. We REALLY need those guys from Timisoara if we're gonna do anything this season. That roster won't qualify for the EL groupstage and will probably finish somewhere between 7-10 in Liga 1.

8th straight years in a groupstage of either CL or UC/EL. Not bad. I wish we would do a little more with all those appearances though. All we have to show in those 8 years is a round of 16 loss to Villarreal (although it came after that amazing two legged tie against Valencia) in the 04-05 UEFA Cup, the Middlesbrough disaster (it was a hell of a run but that end ruined it completely and it's the reason why I will never consider Olaroiu to be a great manager, that team was built by Zenga and Protasov), round of 32 loss to Sevilla in the UEFA Cup after finishing 3rd in our CL group (same year we beat Dynamo Kyiv 4-1 in Kyiv) in 06-07 and nothing since. Five years almost since we've done anything notable in Europe. S*it, dare I say I think this current team has the capability to do some nice things but I don't know. It is impressive that Levy is still manager but we better beat Targu Mures this weekend.

I like our chances in that group as long as Levy stays and the f*cktard doesn't go crazy at some point between now and the last groupstage match.
I enjoy these type of losses because somewhere in my mind I feel that if down the line Steaua become some middle of the pack team in Romania (pretty much already there actually) where they don't qualify for Europe year in and year out, excrementul de finantator, will realize there is no money to be made from owning the team and will sell to an actual owner.
