ICT lose their promotion bid:

NONSENSE!

:f***: :f***: :f***: :f***: :f***:

Totally disgusted by this decision. Not surprised in the slightest, but totally disgusted.

Partick were easily the worst team and should have accepted relegation gracefully.

The clubs who voted against the groundshare should hang their heads in shame. Just what do they have to gain from keeping ICT out ? (except Partick obviously) What other league in the world has a VOTE on whether or not to relegate a team and replace them with a team who won the First Division!?

The SPL MUST change the rules and soon, as the league is making itself even more of a laughing stock than it is now.

what a load of shit.

Not only should they be playing in the SPL, they should be playing SPL matches in Inverness.

Basturk set for Celtic talks

http://skysports.planetfootball.com/article.asp?id=206198

Turkish star Yildiray Basturk has confirmed that he is set to hold talks with Celtic - who are believed to be leading the chase for his signature. The 25-year-old is out of contract at Bayer Leverkusen and is set to leave after three years at The BayArena. The classy playmaker is being chased by a host of clubs from across Europe including Hertha Berlin and Werder Bremen from Die Bundesliga, Turkish outfits Besiktas and Fenerbahce, and English giants Newcastle. However, Celtic - who are still coming to terms with losing legendary marksman Henrik Larsson - are now pushing hard to secure his signature. Basturk is currently on tour with Turkey, but on his arrival to the Middle East - he confirmed that he would be opening talks with Celtic. "Celtic have made a financially very good offer as well as giving me the chance to play in the Champions League," said Basturk. "I will most probably begin talks with Celtic as soon as the national team camp is over."

That would be a great signing for Celtic. :)

well then thats a bit of good news coming off the tail of really bad news. for me at least. i really wanted to see promotion/relegation happen sometime this decade but I guess I'll have to wait some more.

So for anyone not knowing the voting criteria, you need an 8-4 majority here to pass through proposals.

So that means 5 teams voted against ICT coming up.

Partick have said that the Old Firm, Motherwell and themselves voted against it. The fifth club is a mystery, although there are rumours it was Dundee Utd.

Anyway, whoever the 5 clubs are, hang your heads in shame. :kader:

As an ICT fan, part of me is gutted that we won't be playing in the SPL next season but part of me is happy that I'll be able to watch them play 2 miles down the road in Caley Stadium rather than a 200 mile round trip to my home games.

But more than anything, I feel angry and disgusted with the closed shop that is the SPL. I felt the same last season when Falkirk didn't get up and would have felt the same had Clyde not got up this season.

It's bad enough that the SPL football is poor quality, that the league is a tedious 2-horse race every season, that they have a ridiculous split during the season and insist upon playing during the freezing, bitter, wet, dark winter months on sodden mud-bath pitches rather than play in the warmth, sunshine, long bright days and lush green grass of the summer months.....but now they won't allow promotion to their league for 2 seasons running!! What an embarassing joke of a league.

We have an embarassing, tactically inept foreigner in charge of our National team and a ludicrous National League with no relegation.

btw, is anyone going to be subscribing to that Santanta thing? Seriously, paying money to sit and watch the SPL dross on telly? I must have watched a maximum of about 6 of the free, live BBC televised SPL matches over the past 2 seasons. I'll keep my money for something worth having.

Partick feel justice was served because the rules were changed during the middle of the season, but having the same 12 clubs, including 2 that will be in administration, isnt good for SPL.

Only 4 clubs voted against. Partick Thistle abstained out of a vested interest in the vote and BTW Aberdeen should have done the same but there's no honour at Pittodrie while Keith Wyness is there.

i know for a fact dunfermline voted against them, so that aberdeen wouldnt get 600k to pinch crawford! :$ but other than the miserable gits that voted against Inverness, keith wyness really is to blame. forcing a 1st division team to cough up 600k to groundshare with us for one year could have sent ICT into administration. clearly most of the teams didnt want aberdeen to have the most so voted against relegation/promotion  cheers wyness you FAT pie punching ugly prick :f***: and why the fúck do the old firm always vote against EVERYTHING!! :f***:

I wouldn't be surprised if Celtic voted against it as they're running scared of ICT - after all, we usually beat them

And Rangers probably voted against it too as they need to save the petrol money by only having to drive a few miles across Glasgow to play Partick rather than a few hundred miles to Pittodrie and back to play ICT.

There are 3 groups in charge.

Officially, there is only one scottish football body, the scottish football assosiation (SFA). But the SPL's heads seem to think they''re the Gods of scottish football.

The 3rd one is the Scottish Football League (SFL) who control Div. 1, 2 and 3. They seem to do really well, no problems with those divisions (bar the top team in D1 missing promotion cause the SPL felt like doing it)

I think, atleast.

Yea :(

Our state of affairs isn't much better tho, you've got all kinds of groups running everywhere. (:/)

There should only be one body i think.
