Spec me a new sound card

I'm after a new sound card for my PC, at the moment I've got an age-old Soundblaster Live which has lasted me well, but its about time I upgraded. I need a sound card that is mid-range or so to support my 5.1 surround system, but I'm a bit stuck for choice as to what to go for?

Anyone got any suggestions?

Soundblaster X-Fi. You can get those from around 40 pounds up to 140 pounds, I would think. All of them are good enough.

they good, ...for a cheap card with ok sound that also plays games good. I wouldnt suggest it if you are looking something more... pro-like tho.

Well I gone ahead with a huge upgrade of equipment and in that I've ordered an X-Fi Xtreme Gamer card, cost me £57 including VAT, can't be bad.
