Alenichev Joins Spartak Moscow
7/20/2004 7:46:00 PM

Alenichev has decided to move back to his home land after winning the Uefa Cup and the Champions League in the last two years with Porto.

Spartak Moscow bought the midfielder for 750.000 euro but this will be the 31 year old's sixth season with the club after playing from 1994 to 1998 in the Russian capital.

Spartak are going crazy, they already bought Vidic, Cavenaghi and now Alenichev :o

Moscow derbies will be top notch. CSKA Moscow with Carvalho, Vagner Love and Spartak with Cavenaghi, Alenichev.

Goodbye Alenichev... I'll always remember your comments about how Portugal won't advance past the first round, and how Russia would demolish us... :crazyboy: :)

Good to see the legend back in Russia. I believe he was very liked by Porto fans for what he did. BTW is Cavenaghi transfer final? I haven't heard about it any where yet.

Yes he was dont mind that moron's comments, the russian will go down in F.C.P history, he did great at his time with us and achived alot of success. I am not a big fan of his but he was a good player I liked him at Roma and Porto. Wish him the best the fee of €750,000 is a good amount seeing his age and desire to finish it off back home in Russia.

He speaks ok Portuguese and loves Porto, but some kids read too much lisbon garbage pappers and think he bashed Porto somehow, he loved the club and wants to move on and we can except it from a player that scored in our last two final's in europe, but I still remember the one against SCP as my best.

Wish him the best in Russia and some success, classy guy. I feel our club did a great deal as we have many in that spot and this can give some fresh young talent more play, our summer signings.

Another great player going to Russia. Who knows? Perhaps Russia could burst onto the scene this year and perhaps win the UEFA Cup? (I personally just think that the CL is out of the question for now atleast :p )

He is a good player. He wanted to move back to Russia because of personal problems and he did so. He was an influencial player for Porto in the european competitions and he was crucial in both Uefa and Champions League finals (2 goals and 2 assists i think). Good Luck for him and Spartak next year.

we will miss you ALeni, he was a great player who loved Porto. he wanted to end his career in Russia and he deserves to . He will be alongside Deco and some of Porto's greatest:rockman:

arent spartak struggling in the league right now?
Yeah, but who cares? Just the clubs name gives shivers to their opponents in Russia. The team won more Russia League titles than years Manchester City have been in top flight football.

I thought Lokomotiv Moscow were the Russian elites.
Lokomotiv Moscow are a rising Russian Club, they never were the main elite in Russia.
