i have to agree with most of the spaniards.... notice when f. morientes comes in what happens.... look what he did for monaco to get to the CL final and what he used to do for real madrid... he is a top class futbol player and he should be starting.... if they were to have started fernando morientes and fernando torres, spain would have beaten portugal and spain would have advanced in the euro 2004

We can talk about Raul playing in the line up or not, but Raul must be in the 23 players, thats for sure, although being in a bad shape he is the captain!

Mista ? Mista is better than Torres or Morientes ? in my opinion Torres and Morientes were not great, but they were not specially bad, Morientes did OK.

Because imagine had he taken MIsta isntead of Raul with the same outcome then we'd be plotting the best method to "get rid" of Saez.

I was one who thought that Raul would do well in the NT and that he meant to Spain what Zidane means to France ( both having bad seasons in la liga). Well now we know that Raul is not that kind of player anymore or at least not currently.

Another thing is we dont have a guy that can take corner kicks or free kicks properly and that in any kind of tournament can be a lethal weapon maybe the best player in the team for that was Xavi and he never played.

England has Beckham who doesnt play well but still can be a threat in corners and Fk. Zidane, Henry for france, Deco and Figo for Portugal, etc..

Im agree with you, but in the case of Xavi, now is very easy to talk, i really expected more from Baraja, he didnt was good vs Russia or Greece, and about Xabi Alonso ... how awful .... (now he will be cheaper for Real Madrid :P)
Albelda did OK, but vs Portugal he received a yellow card in the min.3 and that f*cked him :(

The first thing that I would do if I was the coach it's change the captain. I think that's the worst thing for Raul, not only in the NT, also at Real Madrid, because he tries to do more things since he's captain. He has lost his best quality, those stupid balls that all the players ignore and he was always there to score a "churrigol".

They had to take Raul, but shouldve subbed him out earlier. And benchin Exteberria made no sense, if they can find a way to field th Joaquin, Vicente and Exteberria, than theyd be set.

By the way, wats the correct way of pronouncing joaquin?

I always say 'wah-keen'
