man, I can't see us beating anyone right now. we were crap in the warm-ups vs. real teams and we continued the trend today. I'm really hoping we can scrape a win vs. Russia and maybe the fever of the derby will inspire us to get a win over Spain (I seriously doubt it though..)

There is no way that Portugal will lose 2 in a row on home ground, so unfortunately I am the one who is in serious doubt about the Russia vs Portugal game.

Yeah, I did sign up. When I log in it gives me one of those ""Dont have permission to acces this page" I did everything, I activited my account from the e-mail. It was fine yesterday.

we could've done it. i mean, it's not like the players are not capable of it. you saw how much we kicked ass in the last part of the second half. we goddamn pinned them to their goal...

but when you have 4 yellow cards, a PATHETIC right wing, a left wing who likes to play center or right wing, and a talentless, the most inactive and unproductive forward, you're not going to win.

i blame it mostly on Yartsev, because, really, when a team that could've won loses, it's the coach's fault.

obviously, there's some fault of the players. being scared like little boys when you see a european star is typical of russians, but these are goddamn national team players.

you gotta admit, btw, that the goal itself was a complete disfunctionality of russian defense. it's a rule, a talented supporting midfield cannot play the role of a central defender.

whatever. i'm not trying to say that we should've won or that spain didnt deserve its win. im just saying that is sux that we could be in the finals of every tournament if some of us actually believed in it.

I thought Spain's wide men were awesome. Vicente in the first half was causing alot of trouble. He had a pretty quiet 2nd Half though. Etxeberria was excellent in the 2nd half after a quiet 1st half.

I think Valeron should start the next game

it was a very entertaining match by all means.
russia seemed very much a contest to spain untill the spain goal.

vicente was absolute class.just thought that spain could have and should have scored 2-3 more

I didn't rate Russia very highly before the tournament and I still don't think they will make any kind of impression this time round, their team is definitely weaker than it has been in the past years.

As for Spain, I don't see how you can fit Raul, Morientes and Valeron all on the pitch at the same time if Vicente (awesome yesterday) and Etxeberria are on, as it seems that many teams prefer to play it safe with two midfielders in a more defensive role.

I must be the only one who thinks Torres' haircut is cool, that's like 80's inspired retro style.
