South America - Europe

Ok Europeans... you may think you have the best leagues, best players and best national teams... and good that is your respectable opinion and all but... In South America although our leagues and national teams are not as glamorous as in Europe in my opinion our soccer is better in South America than Europe... we have had the best players in the world and more importantly instead of glamorous teams, leagues and high paid players, we have players, leagues and teams where the real passion and class for the sport is what counts... to show you some proof here are some current title holders of International competitions all from South America :rockman:

World Cup Champions - Brazil
Toyota Intercontinental Cup - Boca Juniors
Olympic Gold Medal - Argentina

Where is Europe at?

Wrong.... :kader: is amazing how you still see people thinking that only these two teams can offer competition in South America

Europe: Germany, Italy, France and England (fluke). That's not much different.

Anyway, what the hell is the Toyota Intercontinental Cup? :| The Olympics...fine...no one cares about the Olympic soccer tournament.

Europe has the best leagues, the best players and the best stadiums (+infrastructure). You can't deny that.

This "only Brazil and Argentina" exucuse is so old.. time to find a better one buddy. No matter what, Brazil and Argentina is still South America as the rest of the countries.
No matter what, in average South Americans players are far better than Europeans, thats for sure.. in style and in skills. The only difference between Europe and South America is the money.. Europe has it and SA doesnt.. that is why there so many South American players go abroad. Anyways, Europeans should be glad South Americans play in their leagues or else it would be boring and not competitive enough. If South Americans stayed and played in South America, South America would rule the whole futbol world.. simple as that.

But then again, i'm only adding fire to the flamers. I'm sure europeans will disagree with me, for obvious reasons, but i guess everyone's opionions should be respected.

Anyways, I expect thsi thread to be closed sometime soon. :crazyboy:

Definately no denying that... as I stated in my previous post, Europe has money, SA doesnt.

let's put difference in this :

- South America has the best players ... in Brazil and Argentina ... and another countries like Uruguay ...

- South America has won more World Cups (5 from Brazil, 2 from Argentina and 2 from Uruguay) ... jajaja but, we only have 4 and a half possibilities to go to World Cup, obviously Argentina and Brazil surely will go to a world cup, so the another countries have to struggle for 2 and a half possibilities :kader: ... you know ... FIFA .....

but, asia and africa ... countries that never won a world cup ... they have 4 or 5 possibilities to go a world cup .. just like north america  ... who understands that ... why northamerica and southamerica ??? why only AMERICA ... or in europe we maybe say west europe and east europe .... u know ... if the thing were only AMERICA ... obviously more southamerican countries will go to a world cup, thats not a good deal for Mexico and USA ....

- but in the other side, Europe has the best stadiums, the best infraestructure, the best leagues in world and lots of money in football. Southamerica is the players, Europe is the money. That's the football in this times. ;)

But style and skills is not everything. In that case South American teams would dominate every World Cup. European players have other advantages.

You call that dominating? Having won one more WC than Europe?

And about the money... it was a hard job to build up the economy. People worked hard for it.

Leagues in Europe are better. I think our top clubs can offer the European ones a good competition though (just look at the Intercontinental Cup, where the Libertadores and the CL champions face each other, if i'm not mistaken it's drawn for wins for SA and Europe).

People may say that SA is only Brazil and Argentina whilst Europe has a lot of top nations. Let's looks it the other way. Europe has a lot of top footballing nations (Spain, Italy, England, Germany, Netherlands, France, maybe Portugal now), and still, with only 3 nations that are considered to be top (Uruguay is kinda "past it" aswell, so 2) we have more WC titles than you.

Europe in terms of football, are pretty overrated (the NT's, as i prefer the European leagues to our Brasileirão to tell you the truth). Our players are better i think, mostly because here in SA (especially in Brazil) there arent much foreigners and our best players are always being sold to top European clubs, which means that there are always new players coming up to fill the need for more.

Whilst in Europe, the youngsters dont get so much chances, as there are a lot of foreigners taking up their spot and therefore not allowing the homegrown players to develop. Just look at the number of non-foreigners playing in the first team at the top clubs. Arsenal has what, Sol, Ashley and that's it i guess? Of course there are a few exceptions, but you get my point.

I would give the SA an edge (a slight one though).

Why do you think our economies in SA are struggling... because Europeans came and stole all our gold and destroyed our civilizations...
