Slide tackles

Am I doing something wrong or is it impossible to slide tackle in the direction you want to. The player makes this slide at an angle to where the ball is travelling rather than the aimed 45 degree slide.

Seems like that yes. You cannot slide a block tackle unless you have call defender who is shepherding the ball carrier and you might be able to do it with your controlled player. But most slide tackles in other situations will result in a yellow carded foul. And the scripting is still there but a little more subtle. See how CPU slides, takes knocks etc and instantly recovers and regains the ball, where as you take longer. I wonder if anyone can make a football game where the CPU skills are better the higher the game level rather than cheats or restricts your game.
