Last night on Channel 4 they showed a film called The Score - it was excellent. Marlon Brando was in it, but not too good, the character he played was too normal, but Robert DeNiro was great as always and there was an absolutely stunning performace from an actor I'd never seen before called Edward Norton, I would like to see him in action in something else. Therefore, can anyone recommend be a good Edward Norton film? The Score had a very intriguing storyline and it was totally gripping in the second half, I am going to buy the DVD, I strongly recommend it to any fan of intelligent, well acted action/crime films.

Yup, The Score is a good film, saw it about a year ago or so. Edward Norton is a very good actor one of his first movies was Primal Fear which also starred Richard Gere as a lawyer and Ed Norton plays a choir boy accused of killing the priest, great acting on Norton's part.
Then there's American History X and 25th Hour is another good Norton film. Of course Fight Club, can't miss out on that great movie!

Of course!!! Fight Club! I was trying to remember where I'd seen him before. I love that film, havent seen it in a while though. I must see Red Dragan, I loved the other two Hannibal Lector films. I've seen American History X, but didnt like it enough to take any interest in who the actors were, and I refuse to watch the enw Italian Job out of prinicple, but I will look up the others, thanx.

Cool, I'll definately look that out, as I am a big fan of Richard Gere aswell.

1- Primal Fear (2)
2- American History X (5)
3- Fight Club (1)
4- 25th Hour (4)
5- Rounders (3)

I would put them in that order FOR Edward Norton performances. Fight Club was more coolness from the movie and brad pitt than his performance though it was excellent too.
the (#) is the order of my favoritism for the movies.
Edward Norton is one of my favorite actors. all his movies are great with those 5 up there being EXCELLENT.

his performance in The Italian Job is a little bit overacted combined with some not good comedic acting (:/) but the mvie was very entertaining IMO.

I saw Keeping the Faith a few times years ago and I loved it. Ive always loved Jenna Elfman (Dharma & Greg) so having her and Norton, and Ben Stiller was great. (Y)

OK cool I'll check em out, could you possibly summerise the plot of Primal Fear if you've got time?

That's the basic plot.

Courtroom thriller about a slick, hotshot lawyer (Richard Gere) who takes the seemingly unwinnable case of a young altar boy (Edward Norton) accused of murdering an eminent catholic priest.

KK, thanx Hakeem and Phil, I will watch it as soon as I get the chance. This thread is great lol, I've already watched two great films I would never normally have watched because of recommendations in this thread and hopefully this'll be a third. Thanx everyone :)

Interesting list, Limberapolous, a bit too much mainstream though I fear. Good choice with Godfather though (Y)

I kinda liked Keeping The Faith, nothing special but I thought it was a fairly original entry on the romantic comedy genre.

Much better than trash that has been coming out featuring guys like Freddie Prinze Jr. and other poor excuses for actors like him.

About The Italian Job I think Edward Norton was kind of a miscast there, he would have done a much better job as Charlie Croker and might have saved the whole movie. Mark Wahlberg (N)
Anyway it's watchable and Charlize Theron is the most beautiful thing I've seen in my life.

Remind you that not every movie intends to be a masterpiece, these two are just supposed to be quality entertainment and they achieve their goal.

i kind of agree with you virgo, keeping the faith was.... an original idea i suppose

and true Ed Norton would have been better cast as Charlie, even though i think The Italian Job would have still sunk
