Hi, i made a tutorial for my Dutch Graphicssite Graphicious and i thought that i could translate it to English and post it here, so i did...
Simple Sportsig
Step 1. Make a new file with the following settings:

Step 2.
Search on the internet for 2 pictures that deal with the thing that you want to make. I'll make a Ajax signature but you can think your own thing. After that paste them in your Photoshop and merge the layers by standing on the top layer and press Ctrl+E.

Press on Ctrl+U, check Colorize on and make it a nice color that fits with your club. I used the following settings:

Step 4.
Make a new layer and get the Paint Bucket tool, set the fill on Pattern and fill it with diagonal scanlines pattern. If you don't have that one please go to this Tutorial
Put the Opacity on 25 %
Step 5.
Paste a cutten player [player with no background] on your sig right where the two pictures "meet' each other
Step 6.
Go to the Blending Options of that layer by clicking with your right mouse button on the layer and click Blending Options. Check Outer Glow and use the following settings:

Step 7.
Put your name in the left corner (i make my name white and use the font Generic Tech but you can use your own font and color) and go to Blending Options of that layer. Check Stroke and make the following settings:

You're almost ready! Only put a little 1 px border on it. Get your Rectangular Marquee tool and make a selection like mine:

Go to Edit-Stroke and make the following settings:
