Shooting tips

This is a silly question, but I am having trouble getting my shots on target.

For example if I am running towards goal going left <--- and want to aim for the far corner, I press shoot and hold down plus right the shot goes well wide all the time.

If there a technique to shooting? As in what direction to press, when aiming a shot at goal, depending on where you want the ball to go?

I have found that instead of using my analog stick to aim, I use the Dpad. I run my player with the analog stick and flick quickly to the dpad to place my shot, seemed to get more direction on the shot with the Dpad..

I could give u shooting tips on Free kicks.

If you hold down R2 this will add more dip to the ball. It will go higher but drop really fast. If u learn how to curve this can be REALLY REALLY effective. I have scored some beauties this way

If you hold down R1 while shooting your shot will be more powerful with a little less curve possible. This is REALLY REALLY good if you use sum1 like Roberto Carlos for a free kick.

You mean that when you are about to shoot, you press "mode" to switch to Dpad and then you shoot? Don't you give time to the defenders to block you, by doing this?

GreenFan, he probably has the same gamepad as I have: I can play both the d-pad and analogstick without switching to that mode. I only can do that on my Playstation though....

My way to aim with shooting (without curve) is by first aiming and very soon after that shooting. When you do it in this order, you aim at the disered spot, but if you shoot first and aiming after that, you shoot in the direction your player is running, with curve.
So that's a difference ;)

Oh right, so aim before shooting! :f***:

No wonder why some shots hit the post or go well wide ¬__¬.

I'll try your tip later. :)

I usually hit where I want.
Hold R1 to run and when the ball pushes the ball away and runs after it ,then quickly press the direction you want to shoot at and of course ,press square. It always works for me and I never had any problems shooting.
You might also try to press square and let it go imediately because if the power bar grows too much you will definitely miss.Try low shots ,they are much better.
